@amiablePeace77 my emergency coping plan is to lock myself in my room, hide under my duvet and cry alot. Yep! It's not the best plan but it works for me

@Tinywhisper11

We all have our individual ways to cope with things and if crying under your duvet is what helps you it's fine but I hope in future you can add other coping skills that might not be so draining as crying.

@amiablePeace77 My emergency coping plan is writing my 7cups therapist. Been writing her 7 years. It’s very helpful.

Ami, I try to get from around the person as fast as I can, to keep from fighting them. Not a good plan, but if I can get to my She Shed, that is where I go alone, me and Max sometimes.

@Tinywhisper11

I have not painted it pink yet😊, but one of my friends came over and redecorated it with linplum and an aqua shag rug with other aqua decor. I did not know she was doing it. Great big surprise😊.

@WorkingitThrough2

To me walking away is a better way than starting a fight but there are of course also situations where standing your ground is required. Good that you have that special place to relax!

It depends on the situation and the emergency, I think.

@Fradiga

I find it's always beneficial to have a variety of skills to cope with any situation that might come up.

@amiablePeace77

Some of us are lucky enough to have built-in skills. I think a lot of them come with experience. What would be a disaster for younger people are only worth a shrug by now

@amiablePeace77 What is your emergency coping plan for dealing with situations which upset you?

Do the STOP routine and start talking silently to myself to calm down. Maybe a round of Tai Chi or a warm shower.

@soulsings

These things sound very helpful soul! I believe the STOP technique is a really good tool to have!
