What did disappointment teach you about your own expectations?
Disappointment taught me that I cannot expect from others to act like I would like them to act. The more I drop my expectations the less stressful the interaction with others is.
@amiablePeace77 that has taken me a lifetime to learn how to drop my expectations of others and focus on my best actions.
I agree and I would say the same. People are not us. I learned to let it go and take people at face value, not how I wish they would show up for me the way I could have shown up for them. Everybody is different and have different capacities to show up and that's fine. You cannot control external factors but you can control your own emotions and seak peace. I am working on that now

that it is not mostly about failing, it is about when you know you didn't give it your best try.

- What did disappointment teach you about your own expectations?
That expectations align directly with your frequency , and if they are not met, something needs to be changed externally or accepted internally.
@soulsings It taught me no matter what you are always alone in this world. Most will except lies rather than honesty. Except God. Lesson learned avoid people at every cost ‘cause they will come to you only when they Want something from you. Once they get what they Want from you they're gone. I am happier when doing things I enjoy when I am alone.
@eternalHero77 that's really sad 😢
@soulsings disappointment has taught me that life is a precious gift, don't always believe things you are told, and don't take anything for granted💖 hold on to your truth no matter how hard, and always keep hold of faith and hope💖
@soulsings
I expect too much and act very little.
@trueconfidant123 I have experienced that sometimes and that is frustrating.
Disappointment comes when we expect something, but we don't get it. I learned that if something is not meant for me, there is always in store for me to do other things in life. Something might not be meant for me. And that is okay.
Huh. Ive never really thought about it before…i think growing up disappointment showed me the ways in which I thought i was deserving of things that I needed to instead work harder for. And later in life in romantic relationships when I expected kindness to be shown to me, my disappointment showed me all the ways i needed to love myself more. And now, i find myself carrying the expectation of my brain to be right in all that it tells me. The disappointment has been trying to teach me lessons over and over, but i still havent learned. I believe im unworthy of asking for help. I believe its most logical i end my own life. Im so confident in these beliefs I feel them in my core and i believe they are the truth. The disappointment has been trying to teach me that I am blind and that my brain isnt always right even when it feels most certain and rooted in logic. Im in the middle of this one these days.
I hope this was how the prompt was supposed to be answered 😅
Disappointment taught me I had a control issue. I would make up in my head the exact story of how something is going to go, and when it doesn't go that way, I'm disappointed. It wasn't that I was unlucky and things never happened for me, it was that I was expecting it to go my way.
Not everything in life is meant to go my way. If it was, what would I have to learn? I plan, but I also keep an open mind. No one knows what the future can hold ;)
