@amiablePeace77 oh I'm not sure what self perception means exactly. I'll read other peoples reply first ❤
@Tinywhisper11 Self-Perception is the view we have about ourselves, our characteristics, and the judgments we make about the traits we have. I googled it to be sure 😅
@mytwistedsoul thankyou soul ❤❤ I love you ❤
@Tinywhisper11 aww shucks ☺️ you're welcome ❤️ I love you too ❤️
@amiablePeace77 my self perception changed just over a year ago. My 23rd birthday I realised that people here are my real friends and are the best friends I could ever have wished for. That day was the first day I actually felt loved😁 ❤ since then I realised that it's not what I look like that matters to people, people don't just look at disabilities. So I try to keep in mind it's how I act and what I do now, is all that matters ❤
hugs ami ❤
@Tinywhisper11
I’m happy that you have the happy self perception of yourself that you deserve to have. I can’t speak for others but I never cared about how anyone looks. That never mattered to me. It’s always been about how people are and how authentic are they.
As far as disabilities go, I’m not a fan of that word bc of how society often perceives it. I don’t believe anyone’s “disabled” just bc there’s certain things they can’t do no matter why they can’t. If that’s why some people are labeled as “disabled” or “having disabilities” we’d all be disabled/have disabilities bc no one can do everything.
Hugs back ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Happy 23rd birthday!!! If I missed saying it on the day of, I’m really sorry.
@akunknown thanks for the birthday wish ❤❤ I'm 24 now😁😁 and I guess your right, that's a nice way of thinking about disabilities, thankyou ❤❤gives you a giant tiny hug ❤❤
@Tinywhisper11
Oh lol happy 24 then :) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@Tinywhisper11
You have a big heart and spread lots of positivity. This is something that values so much more than nice looks.
hugs tiny 💙
@amiablePeace77 thankyou ❤❤😁
@amiablePeace77
Hi, Ami,
How has your self-perception changed over this year?
I think my self-perception has become clearer.
@purpleTree4652
I hope you can see now what hidden strengths you have!
@amiablePeace77
No, unfortunately I can't see that.
@amiablePeace77
Self-perception? What a useful concept to explain to those:
- who can't see they are doing rather well when they think they are failures and disappoint everyone.
- who think they are God's gift to humanity but whose arrogance annoys everyone
- who think that everyone will notice that pimple on their face
- ....
@amiablePeace77 my self image in terms of looks has gotten alot better but my perception of myself in terms of capability and "ability to do things" has gotten alot worse. Now I feel really useless and incapable.
@amiablePeace77
How has your self-perception changed over this year?
Self-perception hasn't changed too much over the last year, internally. It's what is happening externally, that, as get older, is 'chipping away', sometimes 'axe chipping away', leaving persons 'dazed & confused'.

I am beginning to believe what the Therapist said to me here at Cups—that even my normal thinking was messed up. I got offended when she said it, but now I think she may have been right. I don't know anymore. I was unaware of this problem.
@WorkingitThrough2 Oh no that's not right at all. I think that depending on the situation and what's going on at the time, I think all of us have moments when we might not be thinking clearly. There's a lot to consider when it comes to our thoughts, emotions and past experiences. Instead of coming out and saying that "your thinking is messed up", she could have worded it much differently. (I would have been offended that that too) She could have said, Maybe we can look at this situation differently," or "Have you considered another way of looking at this?" her intentions should to be supportive rather than critical. These are just my thoughts on it.
@mytwistedsoul
Thanks, Me and her just kept bumping heads but I paid for her abusive words. I let her go. But that made me begin to doubt myself every since then.
@WorkingitThrough2 Unfortunately there are therapists that we're just not compatible with. Sometimes it can be a number of things that we're incompatible on and if you were bumping heads regularly and she was making you doubt yourself then it's good you let her go. You deserve better and she should be helping you work through any doubts rather than adding to them ❤️
