- How does it feel to you when someone accepts you just the way you are?
- What helps you to accept others as they are?
It feels good knowing someone accepts me how I am. It helps me to be open and also embrace them as they are. We are all different and we all have easy and more difficult sides, so I try to accept every side knowing I am not perfect neither! I do have problems though to accept people who act strongly against my values and harm other beings (emotional/physical violence).
How does it feel to you when someone accepts you just the way you are?
It feels comforting and depressurizing.
What helps you to accept others as they are?
Remembering that none of us are perfect or are going to experience life the exact same way and learn the same things from it. We're all on our own path. However, there are some perspectives I cannot respect, no matter who holds them. The paradox of tolerance is vital to heed.

- How does it feel to you when someone accepts you just the way you are?
Although I no longer care anymore whether I’m accepted by anyone else or not, those who accept me the way I am will have a close friend for life so for that reason, I feel gr8 and happy for them that they chose to accept me bc if they chose not to it’d be their loss.
- What helps you to accept others as they are?
@akunknown I also care less about other's opinions although I try to do the right thing and act according to my standards.
@soulsings
“I try to do the right thing and act according to my standards.”
Same.
@akunknown I am happier when I do.
@soulsings
So am I along with being proud of myself. It makes me respect and appreciate myself more.
@soulsings it's easier to accept others the way they are, because who am I to judge anyone. Feeling accepted is just something I always needed. I don't know if I actually ever feel accepted
@Tinywhisper11 you are great at accepting others. Sorry you are not more self accepting. Maybe that is the first step to feeling others accept you.
I try not to let a few individuals who find me objectionable to make me forget how many people appreciate me.
@soulsings I think I'm on the right path ❤ but it's not just a few people, I'm like marmite you either love me or hate me😁

How does it feel to you when someone accepts you just the way you are?
It feels totally normal, as far as I can tell.
What helps you to accept others as they are?
I need no help in most situations, maybe because I am not that normal?

- How does it feel to you when someone accepts you just the way you are?
Seen. Heard. Validated. A little more confident. It helps me believe in who I am when others believe in me.
- What helps you to accept others as they are?
Realising that we are all unique and it is that uniqueness that makes each one of us special. There will never ever be another exact version of you. So the you that you are is important. Something rare to be treasured.

- How does it feel to you when someone accepts you just the way you are? I don't think they have as I am not me.
- What helps you to accept others as they are? Mostly laziness. I don't have the energy to hassle people unless they make it necessary.
@Gettingbettertoday you said "I am not me" can you elaborate on that? I do not know what you mean.

Before I stopped drinking in December of 2019 I was a very different person than you know from these forums. I didn't like that person. He was arrogant, a name dropper, and angry at the world despite being successful financially.
I have lost those negative traits along with all my other traits. I am going to have my 58th birthday in a few weeks. This is the only point in my life were I don't have a plan, not even a bad one. I have always been a very passionate about my interests and hobbies. These days I have neither passion or interest in anything. I also don't know how to regain them. I have been told that I can rekindle my interest in an old hobbies by continuing doing them. I have spent the last 2 years blacksmithing. It was my favorite hobby. I still have no enthusiasm for it.
@Gettingbettertoday I hear you. You sound like you have gone through a life changing period of your life. There are no easy answers so can only tell my own hobbies. For a while I painted oils and water colors and it was satisfying. Then it just stopped when I was working and going to school. Later I started creative writing and that lasted for about 5 years. Then that stopped and there was another gap and I started playing on the keyboard. Then that came to an end and I started volunteering and that has continued. I also am interested in mindfujlness and spend a lot of time practicing that as well.
I used to write down my dreams and got some good creative ideas by doing that.
I am not sure if you would like to explore options you could pursue, but if you would, try this google search:
how can I find interest in life when I do not hasve any passion.
Some interesting threads came up.

It feels wonderful to know that someone accepts me just the way I am. I accept others right where they are at and know that they are working towards moving forward just like I am! Life has its ups & downs for everyone! All of us are on the same journey, just on different paths.
