Which of your learning experiences were the most difficult, and why?
Learning how to talk to people on an equal footing was challenging as I did not understand why people acted the way they did.
@amiablePeace77 Forgiveness of self. It's hard to see it in its true form, most times resentment or blame directed towards others feel the same but there's no peace in it. Learning to accept the past and letting go of what could never be has helped focus on the true sense of forgiveness. It's a long journey but one that is worth starting.
I think my current study phase has to be the hardest. As a marketer in my late 20s, I tend to feel the incessant need to keep taking certification courses to stay relevant. In the end, it gets even more overwhelming.
@amiablePeace77 My current learning experience feels most hard because of less motivation. My marks decreased because I am not able to understand anything even after trying to give my best and try to learn passionately as I love to learn new things but now, I feel stupid and too stubborn trying to bring myself to do study. I have math test in few days and still I can't focus on it and practice.
@goldenOwl8174
I can only imagine how worried you might be about not getting yourself motivated and knowing you have to pass a math test in a few days whilst feeling you can't get yourself to study. Do you feel that you put too much pressure on yourself in the last time so that your brain might need a break even if it is a mini break like doing something you like? Reminding yourself of what you want to achieve by studying (your goal) can also be motivating for some people.
Writing something encouraging in your notebook each day can help you feel inspired and good about yourself. It can also help you adopt a more positive outlook.
You can always connect to a listener for a 1:1 chat. Often when we talk things surface we were not aware about before.
I hope this helps.

Learning how to navigate breakup is one of the most challenging experiences i'm dealing with.
@Beechie
Breakups can be very hard and make us doubt ourselves. These thoughts can chip away at our self-esteem, making us feel smaller and less important. It can help to talk about it with someone for support and comfort.

The most difficult learning experiences were the lessons where I learned how to deal with my mental illness. Over thirty years I had been hospitalized many times for mental health issues. Thankfully, now that I am in my fifties I more healthy coping mechanisms for my illness and have not been hospitalized in about 7 years.
@jeffwbipolar
I am very glad that you reached out and joined 7cups. It must have been very hard and painful to live with mental illness and not knowing what to do to help yourself! I hope you find comfort here on the site and also valuable resources to put in your coping skill toolbox. 7 years without hospitalization is good news!
Which of your learning experiences were the most difficult, and why?
Self compassion.
Why is a long story but I grew up with the schema I'm a bad person. Everything that happened must have been my fault. It was hard to learn that I too deserved to be looked after as much as anyone else. That I mattered.
Now I'm doing well with self compassion and it's helped me to be there more for others as well.
@Faelwyn
You came a long way! Nice that you see yourself in a better way now!
@amiablePeace77 thanks
@amiablePeace77 I think the toughest part of learning is applying it. And how to keep applying it to benefit your life. And another level is how to use what you learn to benefit others also 😊 I love this question!
