Kindness
Are you as kind to yourself as you are to others? Learning to value yourself and giving yourself permission to not be perfect is a great step in finding a sense of peace.
@KellyBrastMA
That is a good reminder, thank you!
@KellyBrastMA this is so true in my experience. Having had a mom that was a believer that only they could be perfect but everyone else better live up to their standards, it was difficult to overcome the perfectionist expectation.
Still working on that!
@KellyBrastMA. I look around and see many flaws in others. This helps to remind me that no one is perfect, myself included. Learning about boundaries here at 7cups has helped me to be kinder to myself.
I feel like sometimes I do too much for others and ignore my own personal needs
@Emilyangel I hear you, finding a balance is challenging.
Couldn’t be said any better
I used to be very harsh and judgmental with myself. I guess it was due to having been raised in a home where only the best counted and nothing else was accepted. Coming here has taught me to accept myself. Today I still have high goals at times but I am also kind and forgiving to myself.
Thank you
@KellyBrastMA Thanks, a good reminder for us all.
I've been a d*ck to myself for years, lately I've lost all patience with other people too so yes, I guess I'm as judgmental of myself as I am of other people. Yay progress!
