Stress levels are normally in the mid to high range. I try to remember what is in my circle of control/ influence & that seems to help a little.

@TealPhotog

Becoming aware of what is in your control and what you have to accept for the time being is a good way to reduce stress levels! I hope things will soon get easier in life for you.

Deep breathing.

@trueconfidant123

Sorry to hear that you're under so much stress! Deep breathing is a good way to calm and reduce higher blood pressure which can harm your body. Some people make good experiences with integrating more relaxation techniques, eating foods that help to relieve stress and engage in regular exercises.

How are your stress levels lately? What helps you to calm when they rise?

My stress levels are moderate to severe, fluctuating. Breathing slowly and deeply can help a bit.

Good that breathing exercises help! Too much stress can affect our whole body! I hope coming here and talking about your situation with a listener helps!

User Profile: HealingEcho

@Zeraphim Got it. Try box breathing (inhale 4s, hold 4s, exhale 4s, hold 4s) or 4-7-8 breathing (inhale 4s, hold 7s, exhale 8s) to help regulate stress. If it persists, consider seeking support

How are your stress levels lately?

Through the roof. Therapy is bouncing around too much.

What helps you to calm when they rise?

Not much is working right now. Have 2 weeks off of therapy.

Therapy can be hard when "touching" spots that have not given attention too but need to be addressed. I hope it will be easier after your break. What are you currently doing to relax and enjoy your day?

@amiablePeace77

Not much of anything. Sleep, work, cook, clean, repeat. Feels like the movie Groundhog Day.

Any type of "skills" I've had to learn on my own. If it wasn't for 7 Cups and a couple on social media, I'd really be lost right now. I'm not very good at them but I'm trying. I'm not going down without a fight.

When life is so challenging one needs something to calm. 💙 I find elephants represent calm, strength and gentleness. It's soothing to watch them.

@amiablePeace77 I'm extremely stressed at the moment, I have to do something difficult in 2 days, my stress is a 9.5, I'm hoping I will handle it well or that it will be cancelled. I can use all the support I can get. Luckily this event will only be 2 hours long but 2 hours can feel like forever with panic.

@genericbeing I don’t know what kind of event, but sometimes it helps me to have a plan. Like if I don’t want to be in a big crowd but have to, can I only stay there a little while or find a quiet spot to take a breather? If it’s a stressful family event, do I need to limit my time? Maybe there’s a vague response I can have for pushy questions or judgments. I have to stay away from trying to predict everything because that will stress me more, but a couple ideas helps me feel like I’m not at the mercy of whatever’s stressing me. Maybe you can focus on anything positive that might come from it. You can do this, it will be over before you know it. ❤️

@PiecesOfWhoeverIWas Thanks I'm going to try distracting myself, and try writing down the stressors then throwing it away. I know the time will go fast if I can keep myself too busy to stress.
