@soulsings
A feeling of contentment
@trueconfidant123 contentment is such a sweet word. Not overwhelming excitement or pain, just contentment.
@soulsings exactly 😊
happiness. that's the end goal
@serenereading
I agree, 100%
Hi ! Thank you for asking this question. I have been in medicine for a long time but i couldn't connect with my younger version's dreams but i see it now so thank you.
I would like to make a contribution in discovering treatments for uncommon diseases and happiness of my loved ones.
All the best to you!
@soulsings
I find this difficult.
I was brought up to believe it is doing well in a career, marrying well, having a comfortable retirement.
I then rebelled against that and decided it was about being happy/enjoying life.
But happiness is a slippery thing to manage.
Some days just surviving is a success.
I don't have an answer. I don't know why I can't find the answer i feel for the 'important' or mostly general questions. Even when i pick something it's always related to a reference. For example what does success mean to me ? My answer can be remaining patient. But it's not the one i think of. If i make it more clear it would be: Success when dealing with that one person is remaining patient and calm and neglecting all of his triggers. That's because i don't have the answer of 'what does success mean to you personally' so i am actually answering 'what does success in dealing with that one person mean to you' because i have an answer for that and it's easier.
If you didn't understand I totally understand that!
@soulsings
A feeling of satisfaction. Sometimes, success comes without any effort on one's part.
- What does “success” mean to you personally?
@Fradiga success may just be a state of mind.
@soulsings
Not a bad idea !!
@soulsings
for the longest time I thought success was defined by being "perfect." I put it in quotation marks, because perfect is unattainable and not a solid goal. You can never achieve perfection, because as soon as you get to where you thought it was, the bar just gets higher. I would say success is about finding purpose and contentment and a true feeling of peace and joy in life.
@insightfulEyes3026 specific goals are attainable; perfection is not a specific goal.
@soulsings
yeah 100%, thats what I've been learning
Originally I believe it was to live for a career, money and a family. Then I realized that was an expectation that was forced onto me, rather then what I truly wanted.
Since I didn't enjoy life personally I found that I cared very little about these things when I was actually forced to be on my own. And live my own life.
Nowadays I believe success is more personal. It can be success through what I mentioned but I feel that, that success is rather hollow. Sure they are required for survival but survival doesn't mean not enjoying yourself. For me success is knowing I reached a point where everything is stable. To have faith in yourself and achieve something that you truly wanted. Not something else someone wanted for you. It's putting in effort for something and overtime being rewarded. But not doing it for the reward, but the effort itself. And hopefully you put enough effort that your life trends upwards.
I hope to one day look back, and feel accomplished. Knowing I did what I wanted in life/ am on step closer to doing what I wanted in life. And that to me is success.
