Hello everyone, I wish you all a wonderful week 😊

What do you think helps people to rediscover their true self, their passions and abilities instead of remaining what they have become over the years due to more negative mindset?

Great prompt @amiablePeace77 , I think something that could help rediscover oneself would be spending time with themselves and trying to calm the mind ( through whatever ways that work ) . Listing out things we are good at , interested in , reading and learning about things ~ exploring our interests , can help too ! 😊

For me, the process involves being willing to change and getting to know myself through mindfulness. For me it started with putting a sign on the wall "What did I do right?"

@soulsings

I like the idea of putting a sign with "What did I do right today" on the walls, great reminder of focusing on the good things we did.

I think exploring and discovering new things and being engaged in new experiences helps you to explore yourself more in different environments and situations and that could possibly introduce you to new interests in your life as you gain new information mentally and physically 🤍👏🏼

@amiablePeace77 for some people, it's hard to get out of the negative place because they are out of the practice of having compassion for themselves and the choices they have made that have led them to where they are. Sometimes we get stuck in what we "should" have done and when we are in that space we have trouble meeting ourselves with the compassion and empathy and forgiveness that we might show to someone else and it gets in the way of connecting to what might be possible.

Hi Jennifer, nice to see you here. I look forward to seeing you more often in the forum if your time allows 😊. Thank you for sharing this insightful answer. Life is hard when we lost compassion for ourselves but on the good side, self-compassion can be relearned.

@JenniferPattersonLMFTATRBC I hear you about running plans of what I should have done yesterday. Unfortunately that never changes a thing and just tires me out.

@soulsings it's so hard to manage the running monologue in our heads. Sometimes that's how I wake up in the morning! When that happens I try to pause and slow it down by creating a dialogue so I can hopefully sort out what is true and what is necessary to hold onto for that moment or for the day ahead. Of course, it doesn't always work and those kinds of days can be a bit of a slog.

@JenniferPattersonLMFTATRBC I hear you. When reasoning will not work I put a little smile on my face and that seems to do something to my mood.

Hi Every one,

Very lovely question to start with! It is my first reply!

Well, how can we continue developing and gaining higher levels of experience and joy in life is guaranteed already! Every new day is different day, full of opportunities for discoveries and knowledge, secrets to reveal, good things to make, fix, love, try, challenge...etc

whole new life every day, it is as wide as our imagination, Iguess imagination skills and ways to enritchen our ability to perception should be included intrainings. it is actually what happen automatically when we practice our talents and gifts that god grant to each of us.

It is something recently found to be critical in the overwhole health conditions of the person. Yes if you practice your talents you will be healthier on many levels and will increasy your imagination skills and powers so you can find new knoweldges and lessons, yet ways to spend our time in joy and pure love to the universe with as much as we can of gratitude and responsibility.

Try, Learn, Imagine, Discover, Focus, Live mindfully, and you will find every experience that you thought normal is " paranormal" or extraordinary! You also will be better each single day!

Lots and lots of love to all of you!

Hi and thank you for the great prompt. I think reflecting on things that brought joy in childhood and relishing in play is a great way to re-aquaint with the self and your own innate tendencies and how that translates to personal values. I have benefited from inner child work during therapy, for example I was always active and swimming in any body of water I could find so I found ways to let that translate into my adult life by spending time near bodies of water and being really in the moment when listening to a stream running. I found this plays a part in my inner peace and love for myself.

Nice that your therapy helped you to reconnect with what brought you joy as a child.
