Some people tear up when someone says a nasty comment to them. Other people cry and cry watching a sad film.

I find myself crying when I listen to sad music or when I overthink everything. 🙃🙃🙃

@soulsings

I rarely cry mostly because I wasn't really allowed to cry because people around me would just shame me for doing it. The only few times that I cry is if I am watching a video/movie or in an unsafe situation which triggers my past trauma or if I feel like people don't believe me, insistently critic or point out mistakes that I have made and when I feel like people are "ganging up" on me.

Nasty comments, definitely. Sad movies, definitely. Pity myself, definitely. Maybe it's the hormones......

@Hopey9831 meanness from others especially those that treat us poorly is really hard to tolerate.

@Castella2 I hear you and am sorry for your loss. It must be rough to lose your parent.

I found I took mine too much for granted like they will always be there then they are gone. Fortunately by doing gratitude statements I found a new insight to how kind they really were.

Used to be only when I'd get really overwhelmed or frustrated, both of which were rare.

Started new medication though that's had me very emotional. Like I cried over a flat tire. Slowly getting used to the meds.

Lately cause of a breakup. Been a month and been crying every day still from it. Not sure if it's the meds, the situation which is a mess or both. Hoping it stops but idk when that'll be.

@silent7122

I'm so sorry to hear about your breakup, hugs. Breakups can be so rough and the med side effects might make your emotions stronger. When the heart hurts it need compassion and love. Do you have any hobbies that you can pursue to take your mind off possible intrusive thoughts and give you a break or meet with others irl who understand what you're going through?

I would like to leave this video link for a meditation for self love and compassion with you https://youtu.be/vrgLjLAG9mY

Thank you.

Been one of my problems lately, all my normal survival methods have now become connected to her. Everything in my life has. There's no escape from her. But even though art was a big connection between us, it's the only hobby I can do without crying so I've been focusing on doing that lately. No friends or family to turn to, I'm alone. Kinda why I decided to check out this app. For people to talk to.

Thanks for the vid, I'll check it out :)

@Zahraa000

It can be very frustrating when you can't understand yourself but sometimes we are not aware of our triggers. Have you considered to journal about events to find possible patterns?

If I start ruminating about a difficult family situation, I cry. Just feeling so helpless when I feel like I've tried everything and nothing works, and I just keep trying. It's like waves breaking over unmovable rocks.

@quietCloud22

It is very distressing when you put so much work into something and feel nothing works, hugs (if accepted). Have you considered to talk with someone trusted about it to get off some of the burden?

@soulsings it's kind of embarrassing but what makes me cry is normally failure or sternness from people I don't know, it just kind of surprises and scares me.

I hear you tealCurrent9178, sometimes I wonder "How could they say something like this!" - it hurts so I try to comfort myself with putting both hands on my heart and take a few deep breaths.
