1) What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance to leave them a message?
"I'm so sorry you had to experence all of that you went through. You did not ask for that. It was abuse and no one deserves that."
2) What's taking up most of your headspace at the moment?
It is trying to forgive myself. It hard as 1: how can I forgive myself and others that doesn't feel like a "pass" and 2: do I deserve it? Plus idk what can help me forgive myself.
3) What are you grateful for right now?
I'm grateful that I am still alive and pushing through like a warrior and I know have a part of me being protected from emotional and physical.
@Vivikun9
Hey Vivi,
I really like your message - that's very important. And I'm glad that you keep fighting and feel protected. Regarding forgiveness, I've collected some resources for you. Maybe some of them help:
Self-Help Guide on Forgiveness
Meditation: Forgiving Ourselves and Others
Take care,
audienta
@Vivikun9

Figuring out all the internal talking
3) What are you grateful for right now?
Life, my family and my dog Max, and all the things God has Blessed me to have.
@WorkingitThrough2
Thank you for sharing this. I love that it would be "I am sorry." I nearly teared up. Three words, so powerful
@wontwakewontsleep
Thank you so much. We are all going to be alright one day❤️. We got this no matter what,
@WorkingitThrough2
Yes! We got this. Strength in unity.
@WorkingitThrough2
Thank you for responding to the check-in. What ways have you figured out to manage the internal talk? @Teacup8809 wrote a post on this topic, maybe you want to have a look at it here?
I'm happy to hear that you have so many things to be grateful for. I'm grateful that you're supporting us here.
@audienta
1) What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance to leave them a message?
'You're going to make it. You're gonna be okay.'
2) What's taking up most of your headspace at the moment?
I suppose my head is always full of thoughts. The past few weeks were... filled with different emotions for me, and all kinds of crazy thoughts. And I haven't had the time to sort them out :') I hope I don't burst with tears...
I'm always struggling inside... I know someday things are going to be okay... and I can be real... but I don't know when that is, and sometimes I... doubt that day will come. I don't know who I am anymore.
3) What are you grateful for right now?
I'm grateful that I didn't give up a long time ago, and for my supportive friends on 7 Cups <3
@LoveMyMoonflowers
I am so glad that you are yet holding on and not giving up. Healing oftentimes takes a while. Keep hanging in there. The sun is going to break through those clouds. We are so glad that you are here❤️. I really can relate to what you are saying about all the thoughts that flood our minds.
@WorkingitThrough2
Hello friend<3 thank you for this thoughtful reply- I did need it :') honestly that is so true- healing does indeed take time... I think I'm... at the beginning of it... and my healing certainly has a good deal to do with cups <3 I'm so grateful for our wonderful community and supportive members and listeners.
@LoveMyMoonflowers
You are so right, It feels good to have others to share this journey with❤️
@LoveMyMoonflowers
I hear a lot of confusion and questioning in your thoughts, but also a strong voice that says that you're going to be okay and that it's good that you're here. It's okay to have both.
@audienta
Thank you <3
@audienta Thank you for the checkin
1) What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance to leave them a message?
You are enough. You deserve to have dreams. You're going to make it. Hold on.
2) What's taking up most of your headspace at the moment?
My life is at a crossroads right now. I'm in training for a new certificate. Not sure where that will lead. I am anxious about getting everything done on time, but so far, so good.
I also maybe have been ghosted by a good newish friend, out of the blue? I don't know what happened. On the other hand, an old friend contacted me and we may have lunch soon! I'm hoping the new friend has also been really busy, and I'll hear from her again one day.
I'm also going through some rocky times with my partner. Things are so good until they aren't. We talk through things, but, I admit I'm suffering when he doesn't understand. Sometimes, I see growth in him and it encourages me. Sometimes don't know how to reconcile our differences and maybe that's for the best. My future unknown job will be the answer to many of my questions. I'm excited for the future in an anxious way. I think everything will fall into place for me in time.
3) What are you grateful for right now?
I am safe and I am proud that I can communicate my needs and stand up for myself. In some ways, I have better boundaries than ever before. I am grateful for clarity and clear breathing. I am grateful for opportunity to learn.
My dad, my few friends, 7cups, my therapist, my health coach, and all the people helping me with certificates at Merit America.
I am also grateful for my partner. He really does a lot of physical labor for his work. He has been largely encouraging during my job search. He stands by his word. I've grown a bit with him and there have been valuable moments.
Sometimes people are here with us for a shorter time, and sometimes longer time. Gratitude helps me appreciate them while they are by my side.
Oh and I'm grateful for birds and coffee and this post and all of you. Thank you for reading.
@wontwakewontsleep
@audienta
Hey, I'm new here! I thought this is a nice place to start.
1) What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance to leave them a message?
Surviving is enough. You are doing great, honey. This is not a norm and we will be okay later
2) What's taking up most of your headspace at the moment?
Sensory overload, mostly. Everything is too loud these days.
3) What are you grateful for right now?
My dog and coffee <3
@GettingUp
Welcome you to the community! Glad to see you reach out. Take everything at your own pace. We were all new here once.
Pets are precious! I'm glad you have your dog.
@GettingUp
Welcome, welcome, welcome😊 So glad you are here. I get the loudness in your head, which can sometimes feel so overwhelming. As a newcomer to this group, I want you to feel comfortable in this safe space. We have some awesome people here❤️. It took courage to be here and make your post; I admire you. Take one step at a time< and there may be times when you feel you can't make another step, and that's ok too. Sit down, rest, get a second wind, and start the journey again. We are all walking with you to the victory line❤️
@wontwakewontsleep said it well😊
@nordurnStar
I hope that your fertility issues are soon better, and being able to be grateful for seeing the things around you that catch our eyes can make us remember how blessed we are and especially controlled air on a hot summer day.
Thanks for your response❤️
1) What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance to leave them a message?
Keep your head up, things will get better...Also, your dream of having a family comes true. You always wished you were adopted and to have a "real family", well, now you do! You got adopted by a business couple off the street when you ended up homeless(long story). You're doing better now.
2) What's taking up most of your headspace at the moment?
What's taking up my headspace? Hmm...Just trying to stay organized/clean. I know that sounds REALLY trivial compared to the trauma I've experienced (ex. Nearly got murdered, was homeless, family-less for the longest time, abuse, etc etc) but it's important for me to have a clean home... If I'm in a messy home, I don't feel right... I've been taking short breaks inbetween and cleaning currently.
Other than that, I have reflected on some old (toxic) relationships I was in and hoping that moving forward I don't end up like that again...I'm talking to someone new, and I feel pretty happy so far. Barely met them, so I won't get my hopes up for now. I'll just take it slow and easy. I'll try and make more friends and hope something comes out of it.
3) What are you grateful for right now?
I'm grateful that I'm no longer homeless, that I have custody of my son, that I have food and a roof over my head...and that I've been building my savings, so if anything were to happen, at least I have backup.
@ImpudentIncognito
My goodness, you have been through a lot. I am so sorry for your experience. I am so glad that you are out of those situations now. Sometimes it does not take a lot of stuff to make us feel grateful for what we do have, and I think you have learned to appreciate life and just the ability to have peace of mind and feel safe.
You have done a good job; I am very proud of you. Way to go❤️You are strong and resilient,
We are here for you😊
@audienta
Hey,
We're not doing well, dealing with a lot of depression and dissociation lately
Still hanging in there somehow
@WriteToHeal42
So sorry you are not feeling well. I sure hope you feel better real soon.
@WriteToHeal42
I'm sorry to hear that you're not doing good currently. Have you considered joining one of our weekly discussions to talk to others with similar issues to maybe feel a little less alone? If yes, you can click here to get to the schedule.
Otherwise, I'm glad, you're holding on. I hope, that you will feel better soon.
1) What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance to leave them a message? You thought losing your grandpa was hard your life has changed and not for the best. It is testing you and you are allowed to feel angry and hurt etc.
2) What's taking up most of your headspace at the moment? A tragic loss that happened on 1/21/20
3) What are you grateful for right now? The sun and warm weather
@blissfulTouch29
Hi blissful, It is so nice to meet you. I am sorry for the loss of your grandpa and the loss that took place1/on 21/20. Losing people we care about is so hard. I am not sure that it ever feels ok, but we learn that we have to keep going. We are here for you, and your feelings are very valid. I lost my son in 1997, and I still miss him. Offering safe hugs.❤️
@blissfulTouch29
I'm sorry to hear about your losses. I hope that the sun warms your back and you can feel calm and connected.
@audienta
thank you but it’s hard
What would you tell your younger self? Your thoughts matter. Your feelings matter. Your voice matters. I'm sorry you were made to be silent but you don't have to be silent anymore. You have a beautiful and powerful voice now and your adult self needs it. I'm proud of you. I want you to know to keep on going.
Headspace? Too Many Things.
Grateful for? Depression seems to be lifting for the moment.
@mytwistedsoul
The depression lifting a bit sounds good! I hope you had a good month.
@audienta
Thank you for the check-in. Things have been hard for a few weeks, but I am grateful that things are not worse.
