Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-in Tuesday 14th August 2018
Hello lovely trauma family
Thought we would begin with that lovable bear Winnie the Pooh....." I don't feel very much like Pooh today, " said Pooh. "There, there," said Piglet. "I'll bring you tea and honey till you do."
You know how a song plays over and over in your head, for whatever reason, and maybe its significant, or maybe you just like it. This week its been a very old hymn, in fact it was written by Priscilla Owens in 1882 . Will your anchor hold in the storms of life When the clouds unfold their wings of strife? When the strong tides lift and the cables strain Will your anchor drift or firm remain?
We've been weathering a stormy and stressful time here of late, and this reminded me of how we need an anchor, something to hold on to in the midst of it all. What anchors us when it gets very stressful? When we notice the signals of stress and tension, do we know how to anchor ourselves, know what is going to regain some balance for us.
How is your day going? What would you say anchors you when its stressful? What do you think could be helpful? Or pop in to say hi! You're welcome here. This is your space and a safe place. x
I dont want people to leave. I feel like any time i find somewhere remotely safe to put my feet, the ground starts breaking.

Hi Nancy
Thanks for the well wishes
I hope youre day was good!
Hi everyone, I just wanted to say a few things.. when I initially figured out what was going on in the community I was crushed, I thought that the one safe place I have is being destroyed and it really hurt me, fed into the negative critic that is constantly circling and at this time I am not handling things well...
But in saying that I also believe we as a community can pull together, it totally sucks this has happened because the one thing this community has been empowering in all of us who have faced so much trauma is how to find and use our voices and once again it feels like there are people trying to take that away and from those who are so damn kind, caring, welcoming, supportive and inspiring.. the team have always been there any time anyone is in need but something else I've noticed here is how much just everyone supports one another, how this community is so much more this place is like a family and a family that actually cares how everyone is doing, who looks out for one another and empowers us to dig deeper and believe in ourselves..
Those on the team here deserve so much more than this, they have been nothing but amazing human beings, these amazing people who are there any time anyone has had a question, concern or just needs a hug or little bit of support.. how management think it's right to shake the supports that us here with trauma have finally found is beyond me, because the stability this family has provided has helped so many people find ways to heal, learn how important their voices are and learn just how much they are worth...
This community isn't just some sub community of some random website, we've formed ourselves into a very powerful family who is nothing short of amazing! And that is largely thanks to Rain and the rest of the team..
I'm rambling here but its been a huge night.. I wanted to send out so much love to all of those who have worked so hard to turn this community into the loving and caring family we now are
