Not long finished watching my second movie of the night. Sister Act 1
Coat of Many Colors - Dolly Parton
@Tyedyedbutterfly65 - yeah? Me too! I think it was on Sunday. Have you seen the "second" one? It's sort of more like a series, not really a sequel.
"Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love" ... Here is the imbd page: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5713426/?ref_=rvi_tt I hope you can find it - because (atP) it is really good too! Have a good Friday! ~ Platy
** atP - according to Platy :)
@cyanPlatypus6370 Yes I have seen both and also her Mini Series on Netflix !!! Have you seen her mini series on netflix ??
@Tyedyedbutterfly65 - Good. :) I have not seen her mini series. Not having Netflix can do that to someone. (haha, tongue in cheek) Sometimes I wish I could use/share someone's Netflix account. Or if they have like pay per use, or per day. (shrugs) A well. ~ Platy
@cyanPlatypus6370 So sorry if I could share mine with you I sure would..
The stories in her mini series are pretty deep actually and I am not sure that I could watch them over again.. I nornally can but some just hit some sore spots... Now the others that you mentioned I can watch those over and over..
@Tyedyedbutterfly65 - As the movie was ready for me at the library, I watched 3/4ths of "Coat of Many Colors" today. I realized how much of it I missed! On Sunday, I had not remembered of the 'big grief' near the beginning, first 20 mins or so. I was in tears and SOOO wishing I was not alone. I have too recent of grief (also by death) .... I think I know at least in part what you mean. For me it is hard when things like that come up in a tv show or a "new-to-me" movie. I want to say (to ???), "Hey! I was just sitting down to have a nice movie and popcorn! I didn't expect this." So although the movie depicted Dolly's feelings very well, for me it was just plain hard to watch this time. Take care, Butterfly! <3 Platy
@cyanPlatypus6370 Yes her movies are very hard to watch at times and hits right in the heart... I lost my Nephew yesterday due to drinking and driving he was only 18 so for now I am steering clear of movies that trigger me with more emotions..
Oh dearest Butterfly, Please know you have my most sincere condolences for the death of your nephew. I'm so sorry because I know it hurts so much.
We don't really have a sub-comm yet, but there are several threads in the space of "Grief and Loss" in the forum. I shall pray for you and your family. Do let me know how it's going, ok? There may be no answer for that right now and that's okay too. Were you close with your nephew? ((offers giant hugs)) Platy
@Tyedyedbutterfly65
@cyanPlatypus6370 Thank you so much it is very hard to deal with any loss and all losses hurt no matter who they are...
I appreciate your kindness and caring.. Hope you are doing well..
@Tyedyedbutterfly65 - Yes I agree, ALL losses hurt no matter the degree of closeness, the person's age, when you last saw them in person. In my question, I was trying to ask more of did you have a close relationship or more of a distant one? Not geographically but emotionally. And yes, while I agree that all loss is well ... loss. For me, there is sort of a scale (like 1 to 10?), a sort of "How much sad is this?" or "For how long do *I* think I'll be in depression (or depression symptoms)?
I'm sorry if I offended you. That was truly not my intent. ~ Platy
@cyanPlatypus6370 No not in any way did you offend me ..
No worries okay..
He was my nephew and yes I loved him and I am very hearrtbroken .. my sister is struggling and she is a recovering addict so i am concerned that the loss of her son will set her back into doing drugs. I lost my older brother to drugs and drinking, my step dad due to drugs and my younger brother is an addict and I worry everyday about him..I watched my own parents do drugs and drink and how it affected my family ..
My newphew was 18 and drinking and driving he was so handsome and so smart and such a good kid sowhat he seen all through his childhood was his parents doing drugs and drinking also going to jail..
He is at peace now and I know with all my heart he is in Heaven
