Hello there! Got questions about 7 Cups? AMA! I'm a Community Manager here and happy to help alongside @Tazzie our SC Ambassador! Post your questions below and we will do our best to respond!
Why don't some group chat rooms do not show when there is an event?
how can you get an official mentor?
@wohooradhika Did you try the Mentors page? On the website it's in the top menu under My Path.
(In case any members read this, the link only works if you are logged in as a listener.)

@RarelyCharlie
i tried but the mentor did't reply. It's been one whole day.
I can not change my name of the certificate that I get from the 7 cups. What is the procedure to change it?
@happyRhidi I suppose you can Submit a request in the Help Center for that.
Charlie
Hey, this might be a stupid question but does anyone know how I would go about editing my profile information like the about me section and picture ?
@CmtCmt3three thats not stupid question at all, navigation on site may be hard.
if you are on computeer, click your picture on top right menu, then "My settings"
@TortueDesBois I'm actually on the mobile app, do you know how to do it on that ? If not no worries I'm sure I'll work it out eventually aha
@CmtCmt3three okay, it's why you can't find it. You need to be on browser for it. You may login on mobile browser and follow those instructions. There is not this option on the application.
@TortueDesBois ahh okay thank you very much !
how do you get certified in 7cups?
@wohooradhika There's a Certification page (in the menu under My Path on the website, for listeners only). Is that what you meant?

I see a lot of listeners who join and leave after just a few days or weeks. Does the site track how long the typical listener lasts? Is that information you are willing to share with the community?
@kindMagic5676 Jill resigned in November 2019. See: News from Jill: my next chapter
The site mostly doesn't know when a listener leaves. For example, someone might log in and do some listening once a month, or only during school holidays, or something. And some listeners just leave their accounts active but don't log in any more.
I don't think I've ever seen any official statistics on this published.
Several years ago I tracked 20 new listeners by checking their profiles daily. After two weeks only 3 were still taking chats. A couple of them had taken one chat each in the past week. A couple had either left or changed their names. The remaining 13 were taking no chats at all.
As a group, they had taken about 600 chats in the two weeks. But more than 300 of those were taken by just one listener, who had averaged about 24 chats a day.
I don't know what anyone would do with the current statistics even if they were published.

@RarelyCharlie
Wow. 24 in a day. That's a lot. Also, please let me know if there's another forum where these questions are better directed. I think what you just shared is really interesting. It seems like the vast majority of are gone after just a couple of weeks. I guess I wonder if it has always been this way and if anyone has actually thought about what can be done to keep listeners.
I also thought I'd share something I've noticed from other sites. When I go to blahtherapy, there is almost always a longer wait time if I'm a listener than if I'm a venter. I get a strong sense that most serious (non troll/catfish) users of that site go there to listen. I've also observed similar things when using tags like "help" or "listening" on Omegle.
I really think the goals of this site are admirable, but I have questions about execution or committment to the mental well-being of users.
@RarelyCharlie
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me with something. I was taking the emotional wellness test and accidentally clicked the wrong thing so it led my down the wrong path... I clicked ADHD and I don't have ADHD... how to do I go back or restart the test?
@BookWomanOfFahrenheit451 I tried it.
I was able to restart the test by going to the Emotional Wellness Test page, clearing all the cookies on that page, and reloading the page.
How to clear the cookies depends on what you are using to access the page. In my web browser, Chromium, I clicked on the padlock icon next to 7cups.com at the top, labelled "View site information". Then I clicked on Cookies and pressed the Remove button a few times to remove them all.

Thank you!
TEEN EXPERIENCE:
I read that there is a teen chatroom (looking for a space for my daughter).
Is the chat room monitored? If yes, by the kids themselves or an adult?
@blossom2024 Unfortunately I don't know the answer, and the person who started this thread has left 7 Cups.
The three Teen Support Room moderators are listed here: Teen Only Zone Leaders. Looking at their profiles I see that two are adults and one is a teen. I'll tag all three and maybe one of them will be able to answer your question: @BleuPhoenix @RebekahRebel @sailorelix

Hi, Blossom! If your daughter is looking to be a member, there are several chat rooms that can be used by teens (ages 13-17). These rooms are, Support Room 24/7 andTeen Community Room 24/7 (and currently at time of writing, 14th June 2020, there is Current Events Support). All of these chat rooms are indeed morderated/supported by individuals in the community, who are trained volunteers; as they are only accessible by teens and ATLs (adults who have been through safety checks and have been granted access to teen rooms/assisting on the teen side of 7 Cups), these chat rooms would be moderated by either a teen or an adult/teen listener. On the other hand, if your daughter is looking to be a listener (ages 15-17 with parental consent), there are more chat rooms available that again are moderated by teens/ATLs. I hope this is of some help!
@blossom2024 I will be happy to answer this question as a former teen. The teen rooms are monitored consistently by adult community moderators along with both teen and adult moderators occasionally. There are discussions for your teen to partake in if you look at the schedule here. Any session labeled teen would be for that section as they have their own section separated from the adult half. The moderators who are not adult community moderators may be assigned for specific rooms and are only able to look over those rooms. It is generally a safe space for people like your daughter if she is looking to partake in the site's activities.
Why can't teens under 18 apply for 7cups therapy?
@kaola I don't think anyone in the community knows why therapy at 7 Cups is restricted in this way.
Some 7 Cups therapists do work with teens, and you can contact them directly to arrange it. You can also search the Internet for independent therapists who work with teens. And you can find other companies whose therapists provide online therapy for teens.
Charlie
@kaola I think it would be hard to get parental content and a proof you have it and the parents are ok with using credit cards infos. Right now create teen account is easy without parental consent even if they ask you to confirm you have it. Maybe they need to develop it more. Maybe it will come in future.
Why do I keep getting random accounts asking me this: "hi, i was invited to a frat party. i've never been to one before and was wondering if you have"
Seems like tech support needs to address this, I've gotten like 3 or 4 messages like this in the last week.
@Perkistine That's weird! No one has ever said anything like that to me

Should we give advice to people?
@SmilingTurtle1939 Our training tells us listeners do not give advice to people:
