What’s the best way to make new friends? Asking for a friend 😜

When you know your old friends are not good for you…are they really friends ?

@dancingJoy75

If they are not good for you and don't add to your life, then no they are not friends! Make friends by starting a new club or joining an organisation where you have common things shared, and things to connect and talk about. Initate new conversations. Just be you and the right people will come your way 💜🥰

I'd say step one is finding a different hobby that doesn't involve them

@dancingJoy75 with friendship my experience says -- lower your expectations and you will likely be pleasantly surprised.

@dancingJoy75 - Friendship often starts with taking one tiny step outside your comfort zone. A new girl at work wanted to learn how to indoor rock climb after a break up - to try something exciting but safe. She asked if I wanted to go and it scared the crap out of me, but I went anyway. It started with weekly trips to the climbing gym, then lunches, and ten years later, we are still closer than family. Be brave, tiny steps begin the journey.

@dancingJoy75 i just had a huge falling out with my best friends, so I totally get where you're coming from lol. for me, they were being overall mean and made me feeling worse than I already was (I had already shared that I was upset about something) so that's when I learned I was probably delusional that I had a good friendship. so my best advice would be to be honest to yourself, acknowledge the fact that a day after them makes you feel drained or upset. you're allowed to expect happiness and overall joy from friendships. not all the time, probably, but in general.

i also think the best way to make friends is by being yourself. you'd rather someone likes you for who you are since the very beginning than them finding out who you are later. at the end of the day they're just people! so be friendly and compliment them whenever you notice something, they'd surely love you!
