Hi there
Hi all, I wasn’t sure if we’re allowed to put our real names on here, but I’m 49 years old. I joined a few days ago for many reasons. My husband and I separated a month ago and he told me a few days ago that he wasn’t coming back. I already suffered from depression and anxiety for many years but I’m on a horrible downward spiral right now. I’m hoping to find support and help and maybe a way not to feel so alone.

Hey,
I am a 63 year old male. I am in a caregiver situation but I have my struggles with depression and isolation. I am sorry to hear about your break up. I know being alone is frightening, especially if you're older. I do hope you find an outlet here. There are some nice people who will offer support. Don't get too down, and I would be happy to chat sometime.
@friendlyApricot4110 welcome to 7 cups! 😊
@friendlyApricot4110 I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such a challenging time. It's completely understandable that you're feeling overwhelmed and alone after the separation. It's essential to prioritize your mental health and seek support during this period. Consider reaching out to friends or family members you trust to talk about your feelings, and don't hesitate to seek professional help from a therapist or counselor who can provide guidance and support through this difficult time. Joining support groups or online communities can also be beneficial, as you can connect with others who may have similar experiences and find a sense of belonging. Remember, it's okay to ask for help, and taking small steps towards healing can make a significant difference. Be gentle with yourself and remember that healing is a process that takes time. Take care.
Thank you for your kind words. I have my mom and daughter who have been helping but I only have one friend who travels for work and isn’t in my area of the country too often. I signed up for the therapist so we’ll see how that goes.
@friendlyApricot4110 Hi there,
I am sorry to hear that. I am 34 and in a similar situation. It's really really difficult, but I am hopeful we'll get through this period and things will get better with time.
@friendlyApricot4110 Also, feel free to reach out anytime. It's so important not to isolate ourselves in this time and I'm grateful for family and any support from friends and other people . So I'd also like to offer that.
