Scared of reaching out

User Profile: crystal3344

I am scared to reach out to people for help. There are so many things on my mind, but I don't even know who to talk to about them. It feels so overwhelming, but the moment I decide to talk it out, it starts feeling like it's not even a big deal, like my problem isn't something worth worrying this much about. But then it keeps eating me up inside. The reason I installed this app was because I wanted someone to talk to. But even now, I find it hard to reach out to someone. I feel scared whenever I think about doing it.

Welcome to cups 🩵 🤗

Take your time.

You don't need to ever share what you don't feel comfortable with

Your feelings are valid and listeners are patient and kind.

Or when you navigate this page, you might share in a sharing circle.

It's brave that you've started by introducing yourself 🩵

our issues are not a contest of who has the biggest or worst... I always find it is a bunch of little things that take me down not a big thing.    sometimes starting small and sharing.... you find others going thru same or went thru and can get some support.

Hello, nice to meet you.

Asking for help takes a lot of courage. You've taken the first big step by being here and posting.

It doesn't matter how big or small your problems are. Having someone to listen and hear you can help eleviate that feeling of being eaten up inside.

When you're ready reach out to a Listener. We're here to listen and support you without judgement.

The first step is the hardest and once you take it you'll see it's not so scary. ☺️

🤗💜🫶

@crystal3344 If you feel like you need to reach out, than it’s a big enough issue to seek answers for. It’s easy to think that our problems aren’t a big deal, and we should solve them on our own; but everyone needs help sometimes. And everyone is different, with different problems and skills. What might not be a problem for me, can still be a problem for you; and you deserve solutions just as much as I do. And just because it’s not a big problem doesn’t mean it’s not a problem. Don’t be afraid to reach out to anyone! 😊

@crystal3344 I feel the same way.  I’m new to this app.  I’m not sure how it works, but I would like very much to chat.  - Ted

@crystal3344 You don't have to explain everything all at once. If you decide you'd like to talk, you can start with whatever feels easiest. I'm here to listen without judging, and you can go at your own pace. What's been weighing on your mind the most lately?

Hi, welcome.
I'm really glad you shared this. What you described makes a lot of sense: sometimes when thoughts stay inside, they feel huge and overwhelming, but the moment we think about saying them out loud, another part of us starts minimizing them and saying, "Maybe this isn't important enough." That can make reaching out feel even harder.
But if something keeps eating you up inside, it matters. It doesn't need to be the biggest problem to deserve care and attention.
You don't have to explain everything at once, and you don't have to find the perfect words. You can start very small, with just one thing that feels safe enough to share. There's no rush here, and you won't be judged for whatever you choose to share.
