How to block all Indian listners

User Profile: shyPapaya268

I'm having a problem where a majority of the listeners I get are Indian. This typically means they cannot speak english properly (they can get past the introduction but not say anything substantial). In other cases, they pretend to be Americans, and then it's obviously false after they fail at speaking English. In the worst cases, they say perverted things to me.

How can I block all listeners from India / Pakistan and only speak to US listeners? Thanks in advance :)

@shyPapaya268 Hey :) When you browse for a listener - if you click on the more filters you can pick by country

I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time finding a listener you click with. The ones that are saying things that they shouldn't to you can be reported

@shyPapaya268

Hi--the Browse Listeners page has an option to filter by country.

@shyPapaya268 If you specify a language, or if your language is the default English, and a listener cannot chat effectively in that language, then the listener should not take the chat. If any listener does try to take a chat in a language they are not fluent in, or if they say perverted things, then it's helpful if you can report the listener so they can get help understanding how 7 Cups works.

You cannot block listeners by country, and it wouldn't really help with the language issue anyway.

Browse Listeners does allow you to filter for English language. Again, it's good to report any listener who advertises English in their profile but is not fluent enough to be effective as a listener.

It's rude to say such things.

@prnvvv

it is not rude it is a valid statement and question. People need to be helped and if they cant get the help they need by a language barrier they need to reach out further more it is accurate it even states in 7 cups guidelines if they cant speak more than a few words or sentences in english than 7 cups is not permitted to use them as listeners. Because 7 cups preferably likes english as a first language

thank you.

@shyPapaya268 while I understand where you are coming from, they really are just trying to help even if they don't end up being helpful (I don't mean the perverts).

And btw 7 cups should provide a filter to choose generating request for specific country. Might make the site less diverse when getting help but it would be really nice if we had that option. Sometimes I wished for Indian listeners but all I got was foreigners.

Hiya @spectacularCandy789, just saw this, and wanted to reply to you!

When you're saying "generate a request to a specific country" do you mean the general requests, that are sent to all the listeners and any can pick them when available?

I don't think there's currently an option to send out country-specific general requests at this time. You can always pass the feedback/ suggestion using the channels mentioned here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdates_100/Feedback_37/NewCommunityFeedbackProcess_264411/.

Meanwhile, you certainly can try using the browse a listener page, to filter listeners as per your preference for country, language, topics, etc here: https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/. ❤

@shyPapaya268

Why is this still true. I am trying to find a way to do this myself. They should be banned from this website. They are ALWAYS inappropriate and always trying to get your personal information.
