I ended a relationship that wasn't working out and now everyone wants to punch me.
@FNAFpasta13
You have to do what is right for you. Don't listen to the noise. Focus on what is in your best interest. You are strong
@FNAFpasta13 I meant to reply sorry I can't undo it. Anyways, if you did it properly with reason and communicated than that shouldn't be a problem. If you didn't than that's a different story.
@robyn105 I did. But she keeps saying that I blame her when I said both of us are to blame and she also tells her friends that I said she was how my depression started when I said she was only a part of it. Then I would read chat about what she says about me and it's not very good. Of course her friends believe whatever she says. We did nothing but fight in the relationship and that's why I ended it. She even said if I wanted to end it then I could but when I actually decided too she flipped out on me.
I think a lot about the concept us and them. For instance I know people who are voting for Trump and people who are voting for Clinton. They both think the other side is trying to hurt them. I feel vulnerable when I do what I think is right, and someone accuses me of being selfish instead of trying to listen to what I was thinking. It is so hard not to internalize the idea that I am a bad person because I made a mistake. I am now labeling "them" as the people who I feel like a bad person around. My new strategy is to disengage, but to return and try to explain when I have the words. If I start to feel bad I disengage again. A few times they have started to realize I am a good person and they treat me with more respect. Lack of respect makes me anxious.
On the voting thing ... If I am undecided when I vote I am going to flip a coin. My political friends on both sides think that is stupid.
Because I understand the nature of everyone who's locked into the drama that's currently going on in my life. Everyone's fighting for custody of my kids, everyone feels they have the moral high ground so nobody is willing to compromise. Including myself. Since my ex-wife left her parents are trying to take them. Her current husband too because he thinks they will bring his wife home. Truth is the grandparents have money and lawyers. They could also afford the kids a better life financially. But then I look at my kids, and I think of how my father left me, and I can't let my babies go. So I'm here, a single dad, poor, and watched like a hawk from everyone who's hoping for me to fail. I can't say the pressure isn't getting to me, but I'd rather be hated by others than to hate myself for not even trying to step up to the plate and be there when my kids need me the most.
@Demus
It's a high measure of integrity and consistency to stick by your values with your actions when things are really tough. You've inspired me today.
I gave him my everything and I never thought he could just so easily throw it away. Now he acts as though I never existed.
I let my happiness depend on someone who left..
Today I am feeling vulnerable because I'm an unwanted chick and men don't see me as a diamond, always on the sideline watching others taking my dreams. Marriage. Happiness. Social life. Kids. When men choose others over me I hates myself a little bit more everyday.
I still don't know what I am doing in my life...
I'm alone and sometimes when hat happens hose annoying negative thoughts come to my head. Sometimes I can't get hem out of my head.
I'm still in the dark...
I don't know why I do the things I do. I know I'm only hurting myself and nothing is going on get better if I keep going the direction I'm going. None of my friends understand me and what I'm going through and I'd rather they not know. I feel like I'll be alone again if I do.
@intuitivePineapple2043 understanding why you do what you do can help you move forward. Do you have a therapist or psychiatrist or a diagnosis? And as far as your friends not understanding, don't give up on them. I thought my friends were going to think I was a freak but they were actually very supportive. They didn't really understand but that's not the point, the point is that they are there for you. And if they don't support you were they really your friend? Just please know that you are not alone, there are others who are struggling too and others who have moved past this chapter to the other side. I'm really sorry you are going through this but now you know even a stranger can care about you.
