What is the one event that drastically changed your life?
@BlatantHonesty
Getting bullied for years.
It changed my perception of myself.
Of others.
Affected my relationship with myself
With my family.
With others.
It mad me accept things I otherwise wouldn't have 🥺
It made me have to endure too much.
It took away my childhood.
My safety.
My sense of self.
It made me hide 💜💕

Your strength lies in how you conquered the traumatic past. 💛
@BlatantHonesty
Thank you 💜💕
@Amanda84
the exact same thing happened to me: i was bullied by people at school and by my stepmom for the ten years shes been in my life.
@LexiRaine
🥺
I'm sorry to hear that you were bullied at school and also by your step mom, who should have been there to support you. You didn't deserve that. I'm genuinely sending you my best wishes 💜💕
I gave up alcohol and cigarettes in the same day, and haven't looked back in 15 years. Sitting in AA rooms, telling strangers my deepest secrets and fears and not going home to medicate the shame, guilt, anger, frustration. I'm so grateful I have that experience to be able to help others move into sobriety.

the lost of our parental rights and suffering of our kids afterwards was in a trial program that was abused by some social workers as they was to get kids already in system into adopted homes the program payed them for each kid they put into a home that would adopted them it was to be aaway to get kids already in system into adopted homes but they end up taking low income kids away from their families and putting them in adaptable homes but many got adopted but then later removed from their adopted home due to abuse
yes there were things wrong within our home but they could have helped us get them taken care of one issues wss that we end up with flashbacks and mental health but even after kids taken they offered no help we had no medical coverage at the time so could not even go to doctor so was very frustrating too as we loved our kids wanted what was best for them
our now ex hubby was very abusive to us all but seeing he worked and was military they placed the blame on us due to we did not work and he kelp us very isolated used the kids as weapons at times too we did not know about shelters or other help so that changed our life a lot
we really can do nothing about what happened and the pain our kids went through too not a day goes by that we not think of our 3 kids
@stormieandpaws
That's such a heart wrenching tale. Social workers sometimes work against their own principles, and it affects people like yourself. They treated it like some sort of a sales job, getting commission on every kid they enrolled in a foster home. it's disgusting and obviously an event like this can alter your life. Thank you for sharing this part of yourself. All of our prayers are with you all and those kids.
@BlatantHonesty
thanks we share in hopes that others out there do not feel alone if they going through things like this
even the many kids that end up in foster care sue to the system not helping keep them within their home with parents or other family members we talked to many teens and even adults that were in forstercare as a child so many tell horror stories of the Forster home they was in sad to us
it hurts to think kids even one who were abused by family members end up more abused in forster homes
yes there are some good forster homes but many bad ones too
Losing my house and my job in the span of 3 weeks. All the gory details are spelled out over on the trauma thread.
Losing my mom to cancer.
Seeing each and every stage of it..
And the journey after her death was and still heavy some days.

My parents valued boys over girls, it was worse because my brother is younger than me. He was the golden child that never did anything wrong. Once he threw a baseball in the house and broke a vase. Then he blamed it on me and I was punished with a belt. This is back when corporal punishment of children at home was condoned. Another time he tripped and broke his toy lightsaber and said I tripped him. My mother also compared my academic achievements to her friends' kids, and I was always criticized for not doing well comapre to them. I was also forbidden to go out with my friends because I was a girl. All of this I believe contributed to my low self-esteem, PTSD, and depression.
The moment I discovered my passion, working with polymer clay, was special. For me it’s like therapy – time stops, I feel connected, and I forget about everything else.
@BlatantHesty
After moving from my city to another city, many of my relationships were affected, even my relationship with my best friend, and I became more isolated than before.

joined college in 2014 and took the wrong course.I m stuck in '14.
2018 My oldest was diagnosed with leukemia, in September of the same year the love of my life was brutally murdered, than Jan 3 2019 I gave birth to a child I didn't know I was carrying, and then Alabama DFCS kidnapped my nephew, and than DFCS entered my life because of non prenatal care, and than covid hit which made the case impossible to defend so i I signed rights to my kids father just to get them out of our life, I let his fear overcome my passion to fight what was wrong. Now here we are in 2025 and CPS is more corrupt than ever, I have not seen my nephew (who i raised the first 4 years of his life on and off but mainly on) since 2019.
