Hey!
I am a boy who have experienced a lot in my life. I am 18 years old and still processing things but feeling good about myself and life and I want everyone to be able to feel like I feel. I have been in a deep position ealrier in life and talking with someone really helped me, so now I want to give back and be able to help more people that has issues. I like sports, be with fiends, go party, help others, travel and to try new things.
Do not feel afraid of sharing something for the first time with me. It is one of the best ways to get rid of something that you do not feel so certain about and the first step of opening up.

What helped me gain confidence as a listener is, lots and lots of practice and time. But you will get the hang of it eventually. It is ok to make mistakes.
Also, I spent a lot of time, in the Listener Support Room here at 7cups.
It was helpful.
So, I would strongly recommend, that you spend as much time as possible, in there. You can learn a lot from the experienced listeners and meet some of the leadership, as well.

Hello to everyone here. I am @IsaGuzNa9. I’ve got to know this amazing place 4 years ago but I wasn’t ready to start this journey. I then had the opportunity to become a yoga therapist in a psychiatric facility and was able to share with and listen to so many amazing people. Now I am living in a different country so I have the time and disposition to share with and listen to amazing people here.

@Liamtaylor Welcome to 7cups. We are so glad to have you here. My name is Mango, it is really nice to meet you here. We are so glad your a listener here, as well. As for support as a listener, you can get support in many ways here at 7cups. One way is the listener support room. In there, they have Peer Supporters. They also have Chat Supporters. I am a retired listener here. I know they have that. They also have listener coaches as well. I hope this helps some. You can also find some listeners who mentor other listeners. Since you're new to listening, I would recommend that you get in touch with a mentor. A mentor is someone who has experience, and who has taken some training to help guide and support you a long, your listener path. A mentor is long term. While a coach is short term.

Hi all I'm new to this completely but lived with multiple mental health issues for over 30 years and only recently been diagnosed. I want to get comfortable, make friends and share my story but I don't know how to begin and feel odd. My name is Leigh I'm male and 40 years old from London. I have been diagnosed with complex PTSD, BPD, EUPD Severe depression and anxiety and I suspect I also have either ADD or ADHD and Body Dismorphia.

It's completely understandable to feel a bit odd or unsure about how to start. Many people who are new to sharing their experiences with mental health conditions feel the same way. Remember, you're not alone. There are countless others who have gone through similar experiences, and there's a supportive community here to listen and offer understanding. This really is a great place.
