Hi Faerie!
At the end of this week, I find myself feeling fulfilled, grateful, optimistic, and excited for next week! Thanks so much for checking in. How about you? <3
@DustOfSnow
Thank you for sharing how you have felt this week <3
@ShadowFaerie
Hey Shadow, how are you? 🩷
We've finally had a few good days of weather here, it's been nice to see all the beautiful flowers blooming and to go for a picnic with my nephew and just validate that it's ok for me to want time to just have some unserious, and spontaneous fun 🩵🤗
@Amanda84
Awe, I appreciate your open share and thank you for letting us in with your thoughts on this week.
@Amanda84
That sounds so lovely! 😊 A springtime picnic among the flowers brings a very picturesque image to mind. I hope yours was every bit as beautiful and you have plenty of time to enjoy the good weather outdoors. 💕
Spring here is often mostly wet and cold with some truly beautiful "springlike" warm and sunny days sprinkled in, haha. The flowers haven't begun coming up in my area yet, but they should be along soon. Enjoy some blossoms for me in the meantime 🌷
@ShadowFaerie
I booked my flight for my kitty, Chloe, and me to move to live with my sister and her husband. I also booked the movers and packed one box. I'm trying to pack one box per day. That should get me ready in time to move, which isn't until the beginning of June.
@purpleTree4652
Oh wow that sounds like a lot of planning has been involved. I am glad to hear that you are doing good and that you are doing what you can. I hope you continue to strive forward <3
@InsightfulPhoenix
Thank you very much Phoenix. That means a lot to me.
@purpleTree4652
It sounds like you've gotten a lot planned out for your move. I'm glad to hear that you have time to get your packing done at a pace that doesn't have you rushing. Moving is stressful under the best of circumstances, but packing a box a day sounds like a great idea to minimize some of that stress.
I know it's a lot of changes all at once. Know that we are here for you ❤️

Oh my, this week was tough. Tuesday night, I had a fever, went to my class on Wednesday, but I was feeling hot and cold all morning. After asking the College if I am able to leave earlier, and what would happen to my students. We all ended up leaving at 1pm, and I took Thursday off too. So, my students had home-studying instead. Those with kids, get to spend a day with them, as it's Spring Break, no school. I went back today, but wore a mask the whole time, coughing intermittently, so, I always have my cough drops handy. But you can only eat so many in a day, so I turn to my water during breaks.
I'm suppose to work my regular shift tomorrow, Saturday, but I'll be calling in sick in the morning. The Supervisor says I could call during the morning shift, as my shift starts at 11am, she says, calling at 7:30am is fine. I just have the energy to do the work that would be expected of me for my shift, so, it's better I take the extra day off to rest. I've been working six days a week, since February 2nd. Maybe this "cold/cough" is due to stress, and working so much, my immunity decreased. I actually wasn't feeling much stress with this teaching job in the beginning, but I have one student I'm concerned with, as I might not be able to pass her. She is my stressor, and you know with stress, it attacks our immune system first.
So, next week, I hope my coughs get better over the weekend, it's also time for mid-evaluations for the students. But I do know, with me, my coughs usually lasts for a month.. I just hope this time, I'll be fine by Easter Sunday, as I'm going to a concert (I bought a VIP ticket)! It would be horrible if I need to wear a mask or I'm coughing during the performance.
@ShadowFaerie
@Jaeteuk
im sorry that you have been dealing with all of this. I do hope everything gets better <3
@Jaeteuk
I'm sorry to hear about the cough/cold that has been bothering you. I hope it resolves quickly so you can feel better and also enjoy your concert!
Stress can absolutely affect the immune system and make us more vulnerable to whatever happens to be going around at the time. Sometimes we just get sick though - whether or not we're overly stressed.
I know you've been very busy and dedicated to your work and teaching. It sounds like you care a great deal about helping your students succeed. I can understand why having a student who is struggling would be stressful for you.
What strategies to manage stress sound the most likely to be helpful for you and also feasible with your schedule and lifestyle?
I made a phone call appointment with my doctor for Wednesday, I think I need stronger medication than the over-the-counter ones to help me sleep at night. I cough excessively in bed, last night, to a point where I was short of breath. I even tried putting a towel under my pillow so it's raised a little, but still didn't help.
Stress, I had to call in sick the past Saturday, otherwise, I'd be working 6 days a week.. with Sundays off, I usually stay at home and catch up on watching dramas. I also hope I get a bit better by the coming Saturday, as I made an appointment to have my hair cut. I guess I might need to wear a mask.
I really hope my coughs will be gone before the concert though. It would be horrible if I need to wear a mask throughout the performance.
This week was okay, had a lot of going on externally and I was sick.
The most exciting thing is that Ive been being proactive more and motivated to get things done.
I’m proud of myself for being more open, and intune with myself.
I’m looking forward to more family time
