I'm just a failure
I'm new to 7 cups. I'm going through depression. I'm 31 years old female but I haven't achieved anything in my life. I have no friends. No job. I'm just a failure.
Everyone is getting married. Everyone is getting successful in their life. Except me. I'm ashamed of myself. I feel guilty for not fighting for myself. I wonder if it's too late. I'm jealous of everyone who has it all. My mother lies to people about me. She tells them I'm doing WFH.
But in reality, I'm just hiding myself from the whole world. I'm obese too. One more reason to feel self hatred and shame. This is the lowest phase of my life. I don't want anyone to see me like this. The worst part? This is happening since last 4 years. I'm stuck here. Since forever.

Hiding away from the world insulating yourself gets us nowhere. The good news is that we can decide to join in and start living at any time.
When we feel behind it is hard to realize life takes small steps and changes. We are not stuck, the difference between us and others is they have not sat on the sidelines of life waiting to play. Many things in life I did at an older age then others did not change the fact I did them. Most of it I realized no one keeps score but us, because often people are too worried about their life.
Life/ jobs/ even love does not come to where we are to find us. Even if it did it would not change us overnight. Be the change if you see yourself doing habits that got you in the frame of mind you are in ... stop do something opposite. depression is like a big whole stop digging and climb out one step at a time. I know others can do it....... I crawled out more than once from a pit like that

Recognizing your shortcomings is the strongest thing you can do, and I want to congratulate you on having the resolve to admit your faults.
There is a lot going on in your head and I am sad to hear that it's taking its toll on you. The strongest advice I can give, is if you truly want to change then search/pick up a book, try reaching out to someone and take small steps, research what you want to do/be and then eventually you can pick yourself out of rock bottom. It won't be easy, but you don't lose anything through trying.
I hope you are able to turn your life around. Know that it's never too late to change. And that the desire to change, is itself, half the battle towards that change.
@GoodMello, you are very correct, sir.
No crime in trying to get result

Hi .......Be kind to yourself. What are success and failure? How do you define them?
Bob Dylan famously sang "There's no success like failure, and failures no success at all" It's all relative isn't it?
Have a good day.....
I really feel you. I’m in a somewhat similar position, and I understand how frustrating it can be when you genuinely want to do things but somehow just can’t get yourself to do them. It’s like you need that little push to get started, but you don’t have the energy to give yourself that push either.
A friend once suggested that I try therapy, and she had been in a similar place herself. It really helped her, and she’s now able to get things done much better. So maybe, if you’re comfortable with it, you could consider talking to a therapist too.
You could also try journaling, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Write down the smallest things you’re grateful for, and also the things that are making you feel sad or overwhelmed. Sometimes putting those feelings into words can make them feel a little lighter.
I know I’m just a stranger, but I genuinely believe you’ll get through this. You’ll make yourself proud, and the people who care about you will be proud of you too. Take things one day at a time. You don’t have to figure everything out at once.
Sending you lots of hugs. 🤍
Hi! Success isn’t determined by your weight, the number of friends you have, or your career. I think true success is finding happiness and fulfillment in your life.
If you want to start feeling better about yourself, you have to take small steps toward making changes, even when it’s hard. Staying isolated in your room isn’t helping and can make things feel worse. I’d suggest finding a job that interests you and fits your skills, working on eating healthier and becoming more active, and finding hobbies you enjoy. From there, you can meet people who share those interests and build meaningful friendships.
Happy to talk to you more and be your friend :)
Dear Sensible Eyes,
Your second sentence is the key 🔐. The key to unlock your struggles. You wrote, “I’m going through depression.” There are things to do about that. Sometimes when we are depressed, we stay in that mode without pushing ourselves to take steps to get better. Put one foot in front of the other and make a plan. Google your options. I can’t advise you but I can let you know that you are your own best hope. There is a way out.
My Best To You,
Whimsy

@sensibleEyes1111 its never to late to start. The real fear is taking the first step. Start with something thats not out of your comfort zone and keep going. You'll find your inner strength and with every step forward youll find more confidence. Remember set backs are not the end only a blip in your plans. You are stronger than you think and you can do anything you put your mind too. Good luck and take care
