How was your weekend? We were under threat of dangerous weather. It wasn't fun. I'm new to this tornado thing, so I was on edge.
What was the best thing that happened to you in the last week and what are you looking forward to this week?

Tornados are definitively scary and I can quite imagine that you felt at unease especially if it's the first time! Was there anything that helped you to stay as calm as possible?

Hi, Peace,
Um, I slept with my phone in my shirt against my skin, so if the tornado changed to a warning, i could feel the phone vibrate from the announcement and move as quickly as possible. I had the cat carrier and my important things packed into 2 bags, ready to run.
Another 7cups member read my post and gave me some good tips. Like to always keep a bag partially packed. I haven't done that yet, but am going to.
It was a busier than usual weekend for me. My town had its annual "Nostalgia Days" event, which mostly involves people showing off their old cars. There was a 1926 Ford, a 1956 Corvette (which needs work), a Ford Fairlane, a Bel-Air, etc. There weren't as many cars as there used to be, though.
An old friend (acquaintance, really, we don't know each other well though we've known each other since about 1969) had an art showing Saturday afternoon. He had 21 paintings for sale. I don't know if he sold any.

Wow, a 1926 Ford and a 1956 corvette! Those and of course the others are precious rarities. Hope your friend got something sold.

Thank You. I texted him to let him know I enjoyed seeing him and his art. He thanked me for coming but didn't say if he sold anything.
I forgot to say what I'm looking forward to this week. In the past few weeks, I wrote a piece about a significant part of my life, a very painful part, which is one of the main effects of my abuse and PTSD. It has to do with my inability to have a love life and how I've always loved women from afar. None of them have ever know how I felt about them.
I thought I should write it out so I could get everything mentioned properly. It works better for me to write things than to speak them. I get messed up when I try to say such stuff, and there was so much of it. I sent it to my therapist as an attachment to an email a few days ago and I see her tomorrow. I'm hoping she has read it and we can discuss it.
When I first thought I should write it out, I thought it would take about five pages (as a Word document). It wound up being 17 pages long. I thought it would be great to post it, but it's way too long. There may be many other men who can relate to what I've written. They may not have had the same set of circumstances that I have had, but maybe something similar.

In the last week... spending time with close friends, and work easing back after a major project. Looking forward to? Daughter's class trip tomorrow, and maybe going to our cottage on the weekend if the weather is ok.

I had a soccer game on saturday. We won 2-1!
Sunday was really chill, just relaxed at home. I'm mostly looking forward to next week because my team will be going to playoffs in North Carolina.
