@MeaningfulSilence,
1. How do you cope with struggles and/or fears?
I just focus and keep moving forward. Then the stress hits me sometime later.
2. What is a way to improve coping with them?
I don't know. I've had so much insanity in my life lately that I'm numb. I need help coping.
@purpleTree4652
Hello!
Yes i understand it, makes sense that at a point it become too much and hits you back later on.
I really wish you to find a way to face things when they presents to cope at best, letting them go and keeping moving forward. In any case it's clear that you are doing your best, this strength will help you, pretty sure of that 😊❤️
* How do you cope with struggles and/or fears?
That's tricky. I go easy, maybe too easy. I need to try harder.
* What is a way to improve coping with them?
Try harder - I have a telephone phobia. I was finally able to call Comcast/Xfinity after they raised my charges yet again and get a cheaper package. I hardly watch TV anyway, why should I have to pay so much for it? They kept me on hold for over an hour before I got to talk to anyone, and then it was about a half an hour of talking to her to get things worked out. Oof. I still need to call a new dentist and call my new doctor.
@WharfRat
Hey you did it! Well done!
I understand how stressful it is, i thought the long waits with phone when calling companies was a characteristic of my country, but i see it's common thing.
Then...let's time it happens we can maybe think someone else is passing the same and feel less...alone? A big hug ❤️
Feel free to join and let me know how next calls will go 😊
@MeaningfulSilence
* How do you cope with struggles and/or fears?
I don't know if I "cope." I meditate, I come here to talk, I talk with friends. But coping sounds like I'm doing better than I am with my issues. :) I worry a lot about the same things - things I have no control over. Some days I "cope" and do okay. And then there are days like today, where the mornings are a bit of a struggle.
* What is a way to improve coping with them?
I still don't know. Once my brain gets thinking on a subject, it's really hard to stop with the fears. I try to distract myself as much as possible and keep busy, and communicating with others helps. Posting here, chatting with friends on Facebook, visiting family - anything I can do to stop my brain from thinking too much.
@thoughtfulmomma
Hello thoughtfulmomma!
It seems like you are coping, trying to. That's nice because probably there is not something that can help with everything, it's about to try with things that work at a time...a bit of this, a bit of that... if some days are still hard it does not mean you are not successfully coping, every step taken to deal with things is a success and you do it!
Here you are a virtual coffee to share with you virtually, to wish you the rest of the day will be better than the morning time ☕️ ❤️
I am feeling extremely frustrated this last week and I am not sure how to go about this topic as it's about this site and my experiences as a listener. So I have reached out to this community as it's in my age range and I feel I will be better supported.
If there is anyone willing to hear out my frustration, please p,m me.
Thanks!
@neverendingTime23
Hello, nice to meet you fellow listener ❤️
Sorry for the difficulties you faced, what about to reach out for a peer supporter? You can select one on here flagging the proper button. They help listeners that could face some difficulties with their role.
If any peer supporter read this they can text you but it seems faster and easier the way around, what do you think?
Hope you'll feel better soon and to see you around the community, welcome to 50+! 💐👍
@neverendingTime23
hugs neverendingTime. I understand a lot you are not saying and share some of your feelings.
How do you cope with struggles and/or fears?
I know the best way is to face them, do the things you fear but I've never found anything that helps me to do that. I've tried so many generic self help strategies: deep breathing, positive thinking, mindfulness, meditation, grounding techniques, online CBT exercises and many others. I find most of the strategies out there are geared towards the chronically anxious and so focus on relaxation or distraction. I've never yet, in years of searching, found anything that helps me actually do something I fear.
What is a way to improve coping with them?
I'd thought that talking to listeners here who have successfully faced fears that I could learn the answer to this question from them, but so far that has not happened.
@FrozenGhost
Hi FrozenGhost, you shared something interesting, it has its truth!
I think it also depends on kind of fears and if it's rooted into something traumatic experienced.
Wish you to keep on facing them successfully because to face fears is the first step to be successful with them, in order to realize that we can do it 😊
Thanks for your response, MeaningfulSilence but it found it very odd that you'd wish me to keep having success facing fears when in my post I said I've never once been able to do it. I've never had any success facing fears. That the point.
@FrozenGhost
It's because you wrote ''I know the best way is to face them'' and the fact you are trying is successful itself, also for PTSD therapists say the first and only important step is to try to face fears and they eventually check people in the process of doing to guide them when necessary, the technique is to desensitize from a negative response to fears.
Anyway, sorry if the answer did not help you, did not mean to say something harmful.
@MeaningfulSilence
agree with you MeaningfulSilence!
@MeaningfulSilence
I love that picture, could imagine myself right now sitting there sipping the tea and having some berries! 😊
* How do you cope with struggles and/or fears? I usually push myself through fears, not let them stop me.
* What is a way to improve coping with them? Sometimes I feel it's better not to push but just listen what the fear wants to tell you and deal with it.
* How do you cope with struggles and/or fears?
I can't cope with them, I just give up. I have an exam in 29/1/2022, and I can't study my lectures because The professor kept insulting me to the point that makes me sure that I will fail in my exam, so I can't study.
* What is a way to improve coping with them?
I don't know.
@DinaElwy
Sorry for your struggles, here in 7 cups there's also the community that supports students, maybe to join them can help you talking with people that might experience the same?
Give it a look on HERE
Best wishes! 👍
1-panic and try to forced my way through it. When really scared my I physically shake.
2-Give my dad a call or text. He reassures me. I am working on doing it myself.
