Aches and pains that come along with aging are very natural, we all go through them. There are preventative measures we can take like for example stretching, yoga, or Tai chi to stay flexible but we can't avoid all pains and aches.

How does getting older affect your health at the moment?
Getting older has affected my health in many ways, all negative. I won't go into detail, because it would be inappropriate. I have a very, very enlarged prostate, for example, which makes it very difficult to perform certain functions.
What do you enjoy about getting older?
I enjoy nothing about it.

@amiablePeace77. There are problems with getting older including many health problems for myself and my partner. Things I like about it are : being post menopausal retirement I don’t miss my job, and not as worried about my appearance as when I was younger.

At the moment, no idea if my health is due to aging or something else.
I enjoy having the time for volunteer activities and not have to worry where the money comes from. Being not just older but elderly also means there are less expectations and social life is simplified.

I understand all the pessimistic existential responses about getting older, but I think you all fail to take into account underappreciated positives. The older you get, the wiser you're perceived. But also once you reach a certain point the older you get, the more you're underestimated. You can make full use of this perception of you.

How does getting older affect your health at the moment?
Physically - Metabolism is slowing down, I take longer to get moving after waking up.
Personally (aka spiritually) - I hear of friends, acquaintances passing on ( older, younger, same age), and each time, it gives me 'pause' and 'reflection', of not only their lives, but reminds me in a 'realistic' way, that 'I have fewer days ahead of me, than behind me'. What I choose to do with those days is up to me - rightly, wrongly, or anywhere in between.
What do you enjoy about getting older?
1)That 2SLGBTQ+ persons are part of Canada - recognised, protected under Canadian Human Rights & Marriage Act,
2)That our country is taking responsibility for 'atrocities' put upon the Indigenous Peoples of Canada.
3) Universal Healthcare - I know that, regardless of my health concerns, I can access healthcare, without any upfront costs, or putting me into bankruptcy.

Yes, wisely would be ideal. My point was more a 'mix' of 'reflection + 'present" + 'limited time left' = 'realism'. I feel when I enter this 'realism' (here and now, good, bad, ugly, as I enter 'elder' years), I become more 'introspective' about the past ( personal & global), present (personal & global), and future (personal & a little bit global). I do this in attempt to stay 'grounded', remaining 'true' to myself - from birth to death.
@amiablePeace77 I enjoy about my health having a larger water bottle looking at the sunset being in water loving myself focusing on me thinking of my favorite color, yes I get older my health does affect me it’s anixety stress I avoid certain foods its tomato sauce dark chocolate

It's beautiful to observe the sunset and I find the older one gets the more one takes time for these things, not so much rushing anymore. Good to know too what one has to work on and/or to avoid!
@amiablePeace77 that’s true yeah I do look at the sunset to think knowing the lord Jesus Christ is always with me I got a lot going on it’s been hard for me a lot it has for a lifetime for me that why I distance myself from my dad more it’s been hard difficult mostly 24-48 hrs for me my dad is a guy he doesn’t understands the women stuff
@amiablePeace77 there’s some things I am April it’s conflicts dark chocolate tomato sauce other things I don’t like it’s reliving the trial I went through it want my fault my dad blamed me for it end of March the beginning of April 2025 I was sexually assaulted 5-8/2021 it’s not even my fault

I hate his friend he’s Mexican he has two kids he invites him over for sexual activity
Personally, I enjoy the wisdom that comes with getting older. Some of the stupid stuff I did when I was younger I would NEVER think about doing today-lol! There is also a sense of peace that comes as I get older. I no longer take myself or life circumstances too seriously.
