New Ambassadors!

Hi everyone! I am very excited to make this announcement.

It's been long time coming for this amazing group of listeners and mentors. I am so excited to announce some new friends to the 7 Cups ambassador team!

@Iara: The lovely Iarahas been a listener and mentor since April 2014. In her work as a listener, mentor & mentor leaderIarahas come to embody the spirit of what it means to be a community member at 7 Cups. I remember the first time I spoke toIara, since then, she has come into herself in the most magical way.Iarais the champion & fearless leader of the Appreciation team, a Forum all-star and most recently, executed the first ever 7 Cups Appreciation Festival. Watching her coordinate, plan and use her leadership skills to create such a magical event that made every one of us smile and feel more at home in our community. She builds strong connections with the members of her teams to empower them and encourage them to do their best work. Iara is open minded, unjudgemental and resilient. Iara, thank you for bringing the love and dedicationeveryday! We <3 you back!

In her role as an ambassador, Iara will continue her work as the leader of the appreciation team, forum supporter / leader and quality review team member.

@Jake : Jake, has been a community member since December 2013. It has been incredible to watch him evolvegrow into a community leader. Jake approaches challenging situations with a calm, approachable demeanor, which makes us all feel his truly loving spirit. Jake has long championed listener quality, and helped to conceptualize & write the AL1 & AL2 courses. He has helped build our FAQs and supported all listeners (teen & adult) in their personal journey to become the best listener that they can. Most recently, Jake has worked closely with @Heather and Mentor Leader @Sarah to build out our group support moderation teams. No small endeavor. When his leadership was needed, he stepped up to the plate to take on anything that came his way. One thing I love about Jake is that he always sees the community in its highest light. He always sees the positive and seeing every situation as a moment of growth. These qualities combined with his natural inclination to problem solve and think outside the box, make him a natural leader and friend to us all.Jake, thanks for being you!

In his role as ambassador, Jake will continue to be a group support leader. He will help to build out moderator quality projects, the group support mentor track and be helper to all the group mods out there!

@AdventuRin : Rin, has been a community member since May 2014. She became a mentor in the summer of 2014 and really dove into the role. Rin has a unique perspective on our community, one which keeps us thinking & moving forward. Through her time as a mentor & mentor leader Rin has helped to conceptualize how to better organize our leadership programs, taken ownership of the Listener Support Room, Lead AL discussions every week (if you have not been to one, GO!), member of the flag reviewers team, written countless listener discussion questions (and helped others learn how to lead discussions), trained new chatroom mentors so that they are well prepared for their roles, been a force in the support & listener forums, helped create videos which advance the 7 Cups mission, been an advocate for the giving and receiving of feedback (harder than you think...!)..and many other projects!She has a strong knowledge of what the community needs& doesn't need in order to continue to thrive. She is a master problem solver.

In her role as an ambassador, Rin will continue to help train new chat room mentors, help both members & listeners in the forums, lead the listener support room team,

All three of these all-stars have made me laugh, shared in the joys and challenges of 7 Cups and embody our 7 Cups mission! Thank you all bringing your unique selves to our community every day!

--------> One thing all of these leaders have, which has made them success is the ability to know their limits, take a self-care break, ask for help when they need it, be willing to feel uncomfortable (maybe even get a little bit mad sometimes), challenge the entire community to be their best self and most importantly, when something is hard, they walk towards it. I am really proud of the group of individuals mentioned here, but I am also insanely proud of every singlementor, mentor leader and listener out there/reading this.

Everything we do, is for each other. We are in the connection building business and without openness and the willingness to bring love to every connection nothing we do here in our community would be possible. I challenge you all to think more deliberately about what you want out of your role here and the consciously take steps to make that happen for you. Lean in! Walk towards the fear, be the change you want to see, create the kind of community you want to part of.

And remember, if it wasn't hard, it wouldn't be worth it.
