What is your idea of spending a balanced time on 7cups? Share your idea of how a good day looks like on 7cups, for you.

A good day on 7Cups looks like this: I have four discussion days where I host only discussions (Monday for Depression Support, Wednesday for Disability Support, Friday for Healthy Living, and Saturday for TOZ discussions). On other days I am free to do as I please. On my free days, I chat with other listeners in the Listener Support Room and deal with any mentor tasks.

What challenges did you face in trying to strike that balance?

The challenges I have faced are mostly personal. I am currently studying for a Diploma in Counselling and I am planning to return to university in the near future. Along with my studies, I am helping out my family with chores so I end up tired. I sometimes miss out on discussion days because I am so exhausted.

How did you try to deal with those challenges?

Sometimes when it gets too much I take a self-care break to get my mental health in order or I host my discussions on another day or just cancel it. Most of the time I go for my exercise or water the plants.

What are the benefits of improving your balance for the time you spend on cups?

Less risk of burnout and I enjoy cupsing more. Having discussion days helps me to have some sort of timetable which in turn helps my organizing skills.

What message would you like to give to the cupsers who have come to be negatively attached to cups, in one of the many ways?

Take a break from Cups and enjoy your real life as well. If you are studying, focus on that. Additionally, try to have a timetable so you can easily balance 7Cups and real life. In that way you can enjoy a bit of both and have fun.

I love your sincerity and honesty, @azuladragon34 that it's ok some days not to perform at perfectionist standards. That it's ok to say "I won't be able tomorrow, can anyone replace me?"

It's a very healthy message, that takes the pressure away from saying "I can't" after noticing that our mental and physical situation is not ok.

I struggle with doing this, even if I know that is the right way to behave.

So your candid, healthy testimony is of great value to me.

Thank you @Clarisse29 for this so valuable, health-saving series of interviews!
