Academy Acceptance Update
Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. I am reaching out to make an announcement. We have noticed an increase in people joining academy programs who never actually make any progress towards their program. 7 Cups Academy programs work because a lot of volunteers dedicate their time to support trainees, the time of all these people is valuable. It is important that we onboard people who are willing to commit and make it through the programs.
To resolve this problem, we are making the following changes:
You must apply for an academy program minimum of 5 days before the start date you wish to have.
You will be sent the acceptance letter 3-4 days before the start date. You are required to respond to the acceptance letter and confirm that you can indeed make the commitment. You will be sent a PM on 7 Cups to let you know that the email has been sent just in case you didn't get it.
If you do not respond to the acceptance letter with an understanding of the commitment you are making, you will not be onboarded and will need to apply again for a later batch.
General Tip:
Remember that the academy programs are available all year round and onboarding happens each week. Choose a time where you can commit to the program for the duration of it. This helps you smoothly complete the program. You can always refer to the program requirements list before applying for the program to assess workload.

This change will apply for the week of Jan 10, 2022. If you wish to be onboarded for any of the programs for the week, please apply by Jan 5, 2022, at the latest.

Hi Hope! 😊❤️ While I have never been a part of the academy process, I must say if you are seeing less retention in that area, participants dropping off and not fully engaging in the process, it is quite wise to change the parameters to ensure that participants are serious about it all and truly interested in plugging in.
I may not know a great deal about the academy, but one thing I feel is that people are our biggest resource here on 7 cups! It makes sense to "weed them out" at the forefront if perhaps someone isn't applying in earnest. For those that do the training, their time could have been better spent on the ones that truly want it. For me, yet again, it comes down to the principle of quality over quantity. Even Einstein only had 24 hours to work with in a day.
