Hello everyone, I hope you are all being easy on yourself this week.

A couple of weeks ago we discussed: Are there any particular thoughts or worries that frequently occupy your mind? Thank you to all who participated and shared their thoughts for discussion. I enjoyed them. I hope you all did too. If you didn't share yours, please share them here and I look forward to reading and discussing them with you.

This week's prompt: What are your main sources of stress in your life?

This week I want us to reflect and explore this topic that can help us understand and explore the sources of our stress. Please take a moment to identify the areas that are causing you the most stress. Let's get started and all thoughts are welcomed!

Note: A helpful tip from @hope : "I recommend the book 'How to stop worrying and start living'. You can find the audiobook on YouTube"

@sincereKiwi8610 It's understandable that not knowing what's ahead could feel stressful. You must have strength inside to face each new day despite the unknowns. What thoughts or feelings come up for you in those uncertain moments?

@Helpyhelper10564 It sounds like your studies and health are weighing heavily on you. What is it about your studies and health that are causing you stress?

I really hated Dad thinking the new Herb and Garlic cream cheese Mom and I got on Monday for me "was going to go go stale" when we brought it on Monday. when I told him about it being on sale on Monday but wasn't on Sunday- in the car today

so I had my Mom talk to Dad about boiling pot of water. And when I was putting my bracelets back on after my last day of swimming -I could hear some of the conversation and part of what Mom said "she only want you to surprive the pot boiling" and "She has so little control over her own life"

@Disneywoman Thank you for sharing what's on your mind. It sounds like there was some tension around wanting control over your choices. You deserve to feel heard and respected.

@Youssef619 It's understandable that the unknown future and workload can feel stressful.  You're not alone in finding aspects of work challenging at times. What thoughts come up for you around how the uncertainty makes you feel?

I wish Dad wouldn't interfer in other's people ***** conversations.  I wasn't even talking to him when I was asking Mom about what I should do about my **** chore of Cleaning off the Table full of Thanksgiving Meal since my family had our Canadian Thanksigiving (Monday October 9th) meal tonight but no Dad has to put his *** input in when I didn't *** ask for him I was speaking directly to **** Mom!

and what's worse is when we DO need Dad's attention we have to yell at him to get it!  Like  about 2 summers ago Dad had gotten corn (Mom and I didn't know) and I had asked Mom if there was anything else we needed to deal with for supper (it was hot dogs I believe) before I went swimming  and Mom said no and I don't know but it was 5mins before supper was going to be ready and Dad asked about the corn so it meant "supper was held up" for the over 7mins (the X mins for water to boil and then 7mins) and my parents blamed me for "telling Dad to put the dogs on the BBQ but how is that my fault when Dad wasn't listening when I was talking to Mom about food plans?

and another summer- Dad got angry when he finally found out that it was burgers for Friday/Saturday and he was like "BURGERS? No one told me!"  and Mom was like "yes we *DID* talk about it that's why it was on the shopping list

@Disneywoman It is really frustrating when you're trying to have a private conversation and others interrupt or don't listen. You mentioned feeling upset both when your dad interrupted your conversation with your mom and other times when you needed his attention but had to work to get it. It's understandable that situations like that can feel disrespectful of your needs and thoughts. My hope is that with open communication, understanding can grow between all involved.

I'm in a *** off mood because its Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend my parents, my sister and I had our Thanksigving meal last night.  But tonight people were to busy talking at the *** table to pass around the *** dam food that I thought it would be midnight before I got any of the food around the table and I had a cow.   First they're talking about a dam painting that is up again storage containers in the dinning room and it took them five seconds of talking about that before I could even say grace  and Mom has to serve out the dressing for Dad and I or else we have a compietion basically of whom can take out more of the dressing.

And then Dad puts the turkey meat plate at the corner of the table- I said it shouldn't be there and Dad was like "why?"  and Mom said "You want the dogs to help themselves?"   and then Mom was going to start to tell a dam story I have heard several times before and I exploded but come on I had waiting for about more then 30 seconds waiting for the dam turkey to get to me after being at Luna's and Dad's spots and then everyone else explodes at me  but I did finally get turkey.

And then Dad and I have our usually go at each other as Mom says "he's always annoying me" when I exploded.  And then Mom gets upset with me and says "You're not allowed to speak anymore"  and then when I *did* get finished with supper Mom said "excuse me?"  and i just told her "I'm not allowed to speak anymore remember?"

It has nothing to do with "Luna not spending us a lot anymore"  (her words not mine) but my problem was I wanted the dam turkey and I can't eat the food yet on my plate because 1)no turkey yet and 2)no gravey for not only the former I didn't yet have passed to me until *after* my cow but also for the mashed potato pancakes as well.  I thought it would be midnight before I got the turkey because of the rest of the family was to busy "talk, talk, talk" to pass the turkey plate on to me.

So who do you thinink had the over-reaction me or my parents?

@Disneywoman Thank you for sharing about your Thanksgiving experience. It sounds like the evening didn't go as planned and you felt frustrated having to wait for the food to be passed around.  Not being able to eat when hungry can be very frustrating. I can understand wanting to enjoy your meal. Taking turns sharing and making sure everyone feels heard can be challenging with families.

@ASilentObserver  I mean a work around could have been was when everyone was "blah, blah, blah" about a painting I could help myself to the turkey and the gravey then all I would need to wait for is the dressing and the turnip casserole dish after saying grace.

@Disneywoman It sounds like you were feeling left out in that situation.  I can understand wanting to be included. Events can be difficult when we feel separate from others.

We (the parents and I)  had turkey sandwhiches   And that brings back a bad memory of last year.

Between the fact Mom had been starting to visit my sister in her town  and then Mom got sick wiith you know the viral disease still around that we had very leftover turkey meat  because the one day that Dad and  I were alone for supper *after* last year Thanksigving  Dad didn't get the stinking message that we're suppose to use the turkey for that night's supper.

So the turkey meat was really old about a week  later when Mom got sick and Mom want us to use the turkey meat and she gave explict instructions about how we're suppose to do the turkey sandwhiches -first put bread in the oven, and then mircowave the turkey meat because it was so old, and then once the bread is out to put the turkey on it and then put the stuff in the oven again.

But when we put the bread in the oven the first time i kept telling Dad something to the effect that "We needed to mircowave the turkey meat now" but he kept saying "after we put in the bread again"  and I can't remember how it excatly ended but Mom had to come out and be the dam refree between the two of us  (might have been us aruging about something else) and told Dad off about not listening to me saying the turkey meat needed to be mircowaved NOW!   And Dad said something to the effect that "You're as crazy as she (I) is!"

And that was on top of a freaking fight about the dam kitchen timer!  I had litereally set it at 3mins and then it went to 2:59, like its suppose to but Dad who knows nothing about *that* kitchen timer- clears the dam timer and claims "I did it wrong"  by saying "you had it at 2:59"  and all i said is "that's how it works!"

@Disneywoman It sounds like remembering that event from last year brought up difficult feelings. Reflecting on disagreements within relationships can often do that.

@ASilentObserver  this just was last year's latest one.  And Dad and i had an argument 2 weeks ago about me "having the temp too high" when I was waiting for water to boil.  I need to continue the anxiety thread due to past issues with dad/sister I started.

@Disneywoman Seems like  this argument brought up difficult feelings from past issues with family members. Reflecting on relationships where trust has been broken can understandably increase anxiety.

@Froglover027 It sounds like you're experiencing a lot of pressure from expectations. That must feel overwhelming at times. You don't deserve to feel worthless. You mentioned feeling like you have no worth if you can't meet expectations - what helps you cope with feeling that way?

Please know we are all here with you to listen to and to support. Frog
