Weekly Prompt #23: Write a message for someone under stress, offering words of encouragement and support.

Welcome back all, I hope you are all being easy on yourself this week.

A couple of weeks ago we discussed: Are there any triggers or patterns associated with your intrusive thoughts? Thank you to all who participated and shared their thoughts and experiences with us. I appreciate you all. I hope you all find it helpful. If anyone hasn't shared yet or experienced any challenges while trying, please share them here and I look forward to reading and discussing them with you.

This week's prompt: Write a message for someone under stress, offering words of encouragement and support. How would you remind them of their own strength and resilience?

This week I want us to practice support and encouragement for others under stress. As the holiday season is going on. As much as holidays bring lots of joy and celebration, they also bring some additional stress with other stress one might be experiencing. Please take a moment to write a message for those who might be experiencing stress and feeling low/lonely during this time of the year. Let's get started and all words of encouragement and empowerment are welcomed!

@ASilentObserver

You are not your anxiety...it doesn't define you. You are someone worthy of understanding, compassion, and support. Please know you are not alone.

@ASilentObserver Everything is going to be okay. Take a few deep breaths and stay calm, think of a place that brings you peace and imagine that you are there. There are other people by your side that you can trust that can take care of this for you too, just let them know.

Hi guys,

for someone who is under lots of stress, who feels like they´re starting to drift and loose control

As weak, fragile and overwhelmed as life can make us feel at times, I like to look at Humanity´s Great Venture into the vast nature of the unknown.
Every single living human being is the result of a chain of precursors and ancestors that have dealt with all of life´s challenges, managed to live and reproduce and give forth in this process all their knowledge and capabilities, encoded genetically in your DNA. Yes, the very DNA that´s inside of every single of your billion bodycells holds the potential that has made your very ancestors survive unbelievably harsh environments against all odds and this DNA has made it to you. Whether or not you believe it, you hold the power and knowledge of centuries of lived lives inside of you.

There is a great poem by Douglas Malloch - "Good Timber", it reminds me of the nature of life and manages to reflect positively to the innate suffering in life.

@ASilentObserver

I know it feels overwhelming right now but you will be okay. Just breathe. 4 seconds in, 8 seconds out.

Look around you and tell me what you see. Touch some objects that are around. Tell me how they feel. You are here now, you are safe and you are not your fear. You are strong and you can do this.

@LittleEggHarbor That is an insightful quote about managing stress. Reflecting on whether something will matter in the long run can help gain perspective in challenging times. What feelings come up for you as you consider that approach?

Dear lovely person reading this, Know that you are worth it.

Just breathe.. Inhale.. Exhale..

@ASilentObserver

listen closely to stress

it whispers to you

gives you insight

highlights what is wrong

the broken is lit up

but wait this is only part of the issue

to see what is to be fixed does not fix

only action will heal the damage

have the courage to open up the stress

to live with it in it’s entirety

only then will it reveal what is incongruous

only then will the pathway present

good luck with your journey travelers, it may just get bumpy from here on out.

 Write a message for someone under stress, offering words of encouragement and support. How would you remind them of their own strength and resilience?

I would maybe tell them that it took courage to reach out for support, which is a first step. I think that it would depend on what they have said. I believe in being authentic so to give a complete answer , I don't know🤔

@ASilentObserver

I am sorry, Obs. My daily life is so full of drama that I get so tired and lose hope of change.

Don't want to bring others down. 5th death in my family in 6 months does not help either. My life is like the soap operas on TV. Sounds not true, but honestly, it truly is. I live in trauma daily right at home in a place that should be a safe place. My Therapist says she understands why I am so stressed because the Trauma is still ongoing. My options suck too; I am in a Catch-22 situation where the options are just as bad as the situation. So maybe best I stay here and handle stuff. I guess this is the safest.

@WorkingitThrough2 I am so sorry to hear about the losses in your family and the ongoing trauma you're experiencing at home. That's an immense amount for anyone to bear. It's no wonder you feel so tired and lose hope at times. You don't deserve to suffer like this. You sound very resilient to continue coping with so much hardship. Please know we are here with you to support you, working and you trying your best. <3
