Embracing uncertainty

My whole life, I've tried to minimize risk of potential hurt. It was only natural, protect myself. In doing this though, I let fear and anxiety control my actions. I slipped into a bad state of this for a couple weeks. I would say "what's the worst possible scenario" and then I'd try to eliminate any possibility of that happening. I've realized over the past couple days. If you try and eliminate pain from your life, you never live. You have to be okay with living with fear, and anxiety, and potentially getting hurt. The best thing you can do, is embrace it all. Be excited about the risk. Put yourself in a position in life so that if a risk doesn't pan out, that's ok. I'm so so excited about this new mentality. I have a tough relationship talk coming up tomorrow. I'm super excited for it. I'm excited to share this newfound mentality of mine. And if it doesn't go well? I'm excited to see how I bounce back. I won't let fear control me. It's always going to be there, and that's ok

Omg yes yes yessss!!! Ur very right!

Letting fears control our actions really sucks... And im really happy for u that u succeded in putting an end to it!

A lot of struggle with that to... But in a lot of cases, its worth to take a risk, bc there arw a lot of everyday situations that are just worth taking a risk, and we make them look huge and scary when they objectively arent. We should be careful about real stuff that could cause real harm and we just end up focusing on wrong things...

Happy for u!

That’s really powerful and very self-aware. Accepting fear instead of trying to control everything shows real strength going into that conversation with this mindset is a big step
no matter how it goes you’ve already won because you’re choosing to live and learn not hide.

@navyVase8285, I'm so happy to hear that. What you've realized is a very important thing to know, especially when we want to live our lives fully. I used to be like this too, and with time, I realized the exact thing you said, and it all just made me love myself so much more. You deserve to be loved, too. Best of luck with your upcoming journey.🌷 I pray that you can do your best and live with your whole heart. 🌹

This might be the most inspiring message I have ever read. Dealing with the "What ifs" in life in a negative light can be very harmful to us, because we try to protect ourselves from getting hurt, but just as you say, in the process, we stop living. I completely agree with what you say, although for some it might be easier said than done, I agree with your mentality of confronting things in a positive way, without letting fear control us.

This is great! It takes a lot of courage to recognize how much fear can hold us back and to consciously choose to face uncertainty instead. Wishing you all the best.
