What’s one small thing that helped you get through a tough day?

Not every hard day needs a big solution. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that help us get through a walk, a song, a message from a friend, or even just taking a deep breath and pausing for a moment.

A distraction of sorts i guess

A good story, good piece of music. Hard to be bothered when you're too busy to think

A walk with some good tunes playing in my ears.

Sometimes a action packed Thriller or Horror movie, something to occupy the mind.

A little exercise followed by good rest helps me.

Also enjoying and appreciating the spring flowers starting to peek out.

One small thing that helped me get through a tough day was reminding myself to pause, breathe, and that I still have myself.

For me, recognizing the difference between Anxiety disorder type anxiety, and normal anxiety. For example, when I’m nervous about a presentation in university, instead of saying “oh my gosh I’m nervous!!” I tell myself “being nervous about a presentation is a normal anxiety. THIS anxiety is nothing I should erase.”

This really helped me, because I used to believe ALL anxiety were problematic, but that simply wasn’t true.

@SarahTealCat Thank you for sharing this. It's really insightful! The way we talk to ourselves during nerve-wracking moments really changes how we feel as well.
