Author Biography

Ayesha Tariq Ali is a psychology student who combines her passion for mental health advocacy with her writing and poetry talents. Currently working as a Programs Coordinator for 7 Cups and overseeing their Content Volunteer Team, delivering the Content Development and Marketing Program as part of the 7 Cups Academy as well as involved in several other programs, Ayesha enjoys helping others realize the potential of using words for change. She is a WEDU Global Rising Star and has leadership experience through being an Open Source Leader via Common Purpose. Some of her writing accomplishments include being awarded a Silver Award for the Royal Commonwealth Society’s Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition as well as being a finalist for the World Youth Essay Competition (WYEC) in 2018. In her free time, Ayesha is an avid reader and likes to stay up-to-date on psychological research and other issues. Her current focus and interests include positive psychology, leadership, mental health advocacy and invisible illness awareness.

Why I Write

Writing for me has always been a medium of expression - I personally really like poetry and have used it to reflect and raise awareness for issues that are important to me. What I enjoy is the fact that poetry can be interpreted in many ways!
