Hey hey, everyone! I hope you all are doing well πŸ’œ

Happy New year, everyone πŸ’œ As we're freshly into this new year, I do hear this a lot - New Year, New You. While this is an absolutely amazing mindset to keep moving forwards with, I like to believe more in - New Year, Better You πŸ’œ Though it may not be possible to completely change our lives, it’s still the little steps for the betterment of self that matters! One day at a time πŸ’œ

For everyone,

1. What are some small steps you wish to take this new year to promote self-growth? Feel free to share with us πŸ’œ

(For me, one small yet life-changing step would be trying to put self-care first. As someone who easily loses track of time at work, I do believe some self-care time can help me grow πŸ’œ)

2. Tag your fellow Cupsers so that they can share with us too πŸ’œ

Hey hey Nuttt, thankyou for tagging me! πŸ’œ

I've come across a similar concept, of this New Year, New Me, I do feel it's slightly less realistic though, like you said ~ it's not easy to change oneself completley.

We can ofcourse take small steps, one day at a time indeed.

I like New Year, Better Me too, it is more 'achievable' hehe!

Self care is awesome, Nuttt!! I hope you're able to move it up, in your priority list. πŸ’œ

I'd really just like to continue working on the basics, good sleep, healthier diet, engaging in some physical activities and might take up a new hobby also hehe.

For anything, the roots are important!
So I will try to meet my basic needs and hold fast to the good habits.
I must again make time to read books outside of academics and and and..... spend my time mindfully!

The only thing I want is for my scars to keep fading which are embedded deep into the soul. For the blood that bleeds internally. To heal completely and for everyone who is going through the same thing with storyline. Tc!❀️

1) This is going to be my small step:

To not be discouraged by small steps. To take small steps and turn it into something bigger.

This is a great post! I like the idea of New Year, Better You. Somethings I am working on and plan to continue working on are maintaining my own peace. Doing these things helps me so much:

- good sleep schedule

- eating healthy and delicious foodsπŸ˜‹

- yoga and Pilates

- reading and learning

- spending time with people I love

- resting when I am tired

- volunteering (shout out to 7 cups πŸ™!)

- being more observant

I am beyond words for how grateful I am for this year in my life, even though the lessons were so hard. I plan to take these lessons into 2022 and beyond!

@amazingNutella24 Hello again amazing nutella thank you for this *amazing* post!

I too have seen this "new year, new me" alot and it does kind of feel unrealistic because we can't really just *wink* and change hehe. I also feel it sometimes sets unrealistic expectations. So "New year, better me" Sounds like a *better* concept.

I will be focusing on myself more. My goal is to make myself my top priority and take really good care of myself. Also spend lots of me time and enjoy my own company.

I am also very happy to know that you will be focusing on self care!

Happy New Year Everyone!

One small thing I would start implementing in my life this year would be journaling to reflect about any negative feelings that may come up in my day to day life.

πŸ’œ What are some small steps you wish to take this new year to promote self-growth?

This year I'm scheduling my reading based on quarters because that is how we run time at work. I think this will help make sure I'm spreading out my time well between reading for work, indulging myself in unassigned fancies, and reading to supplement areas I'm weak in outside of work. I have also started doing some co-reads with a friend of mine; we just finished our first and I'm excited to do another in this year's first quarter ☺️
