"Someday, I'll love myself more."

Maybe around 20 drinks a week lately,
I was up to about 15 this night alone,
I didn't even catch a name,
Who knows what else I could have caught?

Almost fainted, cuffed aggressively.
I only didn't go through with it because a kid was close enough to hear the shot meant only for me,
What good can that even say about me though? I wasn't supposed to survive this.

Not sure what exactly shifted, it's a lot of things,
Fitter, happier, more productive.
More and more, becoming someone I can be proud of, and becoming even better.
Admittedly, still, always things in the corner of my eye...
But I can't wait to see how much more I can love myself someday if I keep this up.

Self-Acceptance
As I look at the horizon,
I reflect on the essence,
Of my very existence.
I am on the two way street,
Of my mental complex,
I look to the left,
Where I have been,
The challenges,
The achievements,
The fear,
The pleasantries.
Then I look to the right,
What I will become,
My future,
The unknown,
The fog in the distance,
That never fails to,
Make me wonder.
As I travel along the road,
Towards my future,
I look down at myself,
The person,
Who is running away,
From the past,
Filled with fear.
But what fills my thoughts,
Is whether I will truely,
Love myself again.
Then the angel on my shoulder,
The spirit of the light,
Whispers in my ear,
"Someday,
You will love yourself more."
With that thought in my mind,
I run through the mist,
And to unknown future ahead of me.
