Favorite Winter Snacks Swap 🍪❄️
Hi everyone! With winter approaching and December right around the corner, I thought it would be wonderful to share some of the unique snacks that make this season special in different parts of the world. 🍫❄
Let's hear about each other's favorite snacks that make winter feel special where you are. You can describe how it tastes, smells, or how it is traditionally enjoyed. Is it sweet, savory, or something unexpected? Does it remind you of family gatherings, quiet evenings, or festive celebrations?
I’ll start first: one of my favorite winter treats from my country are roasted peanuts. 🥜 There is something about holding the warm, fragrant peanuts in your hand and savoring their nutty taste that feels cozy and comforting during cold days. The aroma alone makes the season feel a little brighter, and it always brings a sense of simple joy.
It is always fascinating to see the variety of treats that bring warmth and comfort across the world. I’m really looking forward to learning about your favorite winter snacks. 🌍✨

@KindleMissie
We love mince pies, Christmas pudding with Guinness, and pigs in blankets 🥰
@Amanda84 Oooh pigs in blankets I know, but mince pies and Christmas pudding with Guinness are totally new to me! This is my first time hearing about them and now I’m really curious! 😃✨ Mince pies… the name makes me wonder 😁 do they involve any spices or maybe even peppermint? They sound like the kind of festive treats that make winter extra cozy 🥰✨ Thanks for sharing your wonderful delights with us! 😊💖
@KindleMissie
Mince pies, yes, they have a mixture of spices in them, kind of savoury. Pudding is a Christ tradition, filled with Guinness our national drink 😁 extremely popular 🥰
@Amanda84
we know the mincemeat pie and pigs in blanket but the pudding we not heard of
I'm not a big snacker and I don't like to make a lot of sweets because I usually end up eating a lot of it. I like cooking though and especially like baking bread and cooking vegetable soup of some sort, or trying a new recipe. If I'm in the mood to make sweets, I might throw together some brownies or a banana bread.
It's just me and the girls and my husband and I get really frustrated sometimes because sometimes these ppl don't always say the nicest things or have any appreciation when I cook for them. They all have an opinion even though they didn't cook it. 😢. I still enjoy cooking for me regardless.
@reservedOwl321 Aww, I can hear you 😥 It can be frustrating when people don’t notice all the love you put into cooking. But honestly, the way you bring pure happiness on a plate by baking bread, making vegetable soup, trying new recipes, brownies or banana bread. It’s like creating little cozy moments for yourself and your family 🥰 which is true magic. ✨ Anyone who complains clearly doesn’t understand how powerful a little chocolate or banana can be 😎😂 Even if they don’t always say it, the care and love you put into the kitchen is something really special ✨🍞🍲 Thanks for sharing your cozy kitchen moments with us! 😊💖
Thank you for your kind words @KindleMissie. If I go out of town the kids have been known to notice Mom is gone (aka no food in the house), so that is a start...
@reservedOwl321 Aww that actually made me smile 😄 It’s funny how kids may not always say “thank you,” but the moment you’re away and the house suddenly feels… food-less? That’s their quiet way of showing how much your presence and your cooking really hold everything together. 💛
Even if they don’t always say the nicest things, you’re clearly the heart of the home in ways they notice when you’re not there and honestly, they’ll learn to appreciate it more and more as they grow. That little detail you shared says so much about the love and comfort you bring. Sometimes it just takes time for people to realize how much love goes into the things that feel “every day.” 💖 It truly made my heart warm, thank you for sharing that. ✨
@KindleMissie Anything that involves peanut butter. But for me, the classic popcorn and peanut m&m's are the best. Sometimes, I add in peanut butter cups.
@lindorcarameltruffles yesss popcorn with peanut M&Ms and peanut butter cups!! 😋😋😋 I am already craving peanut butter 😂 and imaging peanut butter cups are making me crazy 🤣🤣🤣 Peanut butter squad for life! 🥜😂 I’d totally join you for this snack session anytime! 😄🍿 Thanks for sharing your peanut butter wonders with us! 😊💖
Not a snack so much, but a ‘taste’ and the smell making fresh cranberry sauce. Their sandwiches apple cider vinegar, whole cloves and allspice and a cinnamon stick. That’s the first sign that the holidays are around the corner in my family!
Oh my GOSH!! ‘Their sandwiches’?!?! Tnis is the second time autocorrect has had the best of me today!! I don’t remember what I was typing but please know…it was def NOT ‘their sandwiches’!!!
Lolllll
@TheReflex Ooooh, magical! 🥰✨ It really feels like the official announcement of the holidays, I can almost smell it through the screen 😄 Winter cozy vibes unlocked! And honestly, we’re on the same wavelength. The moment winter arrives, I turn my whole house into a giant orange scented universe 😂🍊 I have no idea why, but it just makes everything feel warm, bright, and perfectly wintery.
Thank you for sharing such a sweet little tradition, it brought a lovely holiday feeling right into this thread 😊💖
@KindleMissie
A newer one that I've tried, but powdered sugar-covered cranberries. They're super easy to make and are both sweet and tart. Cranberries always remind me of the colder months.
@delphinedaniel Oh the little not so much work needed adventures of colder months!❄💖 Cranberry with powdered sugar seems like a perfect way to spend winter having that sweet cozy feeling and that daring tart taste that while laughing during the sour taste on buds can cramp your cheeks 😂💛 Thank you so much for sharing your favorite winter snack with us! 😊💖
Warm sticky buns

@mytwistedsoul oooh that looks delicious! 🤤💖💖💖 just made me crave for sweets, currently turning my home upside down hunting for one. Wait, aren't they same as cinnamon rolls?
Thanks for sharing this lovely treat with us 😊💖
@KindleMissie They're similar but yet they're not. Sticky buns are more gooey and more dense than cinnamon rolls. Although, I won't turn down a good cinnamon roll either! 😂
@mytwistedsoul oooooh, now I see! the softy softy make them different! 😮 Thanks you so much for explaining twisted 💖💖💖 Yup, I either won't turn down cinnamon roll for sticky bun or sticky bun for cinnamon roll now 😂😂😂 I will nom nom them all 😋😁😁 *shares with you 💛*
Uh I would have to say fresh baked cookies.. nothing like the aroma and the soft warm chewy bits
@neonWriter8115 yess cookies! 😊💖💖💖 They are love and peace no matter the region, you are gonna like it and that's guaranteed 😆✨
Yes !!!
@KindleMissie gingersnaps and snowballs!!
What are snowballs???
@jesusredeemedme2425 guess what! I am clueless too about what they are 🤣 but my imagination is running fly high, I am thinking of me grabbing fresh snow from my porch, making it a ball and putting my chocolate syrup on it 😁😁😁
@jesusredeemedme2425 it's a kind of cookie, but they're spherical and covered in powdered sugar, so they look like snowballs!
Ohhh i feel like I’ve seen those lol
@thebendygirl WOWW!!! Gingersnaps are the new one ✨💛 I would love to know more about them. 💖 Thanks for sharing the unique deserts with us 😊💖
@thebendygirl
wow not heard many that know what snowballs are they so good
Chocolate 😋 like nutella or some hazelnut chocolate , OOO or those york peppermint patties sometimes, and those chocolate shaped santas too
@berrycheesecake90 Ah serene, I want all of them 😋😋😋 Don't let me see it, or you will find your pantry section of chocolates empty the next day 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing delicious snacks with us! 😊💖
