How to move away from the phone
How to use my phone less?? My screen time is quite embarrassing, but I live alone, don’t have many friends whom I can meet, not much into any hobbies, but I don’t want to rot in my bed scrolling away for hours, yet when I get off I always feel so bored and unmotivated to do something productive even though I have more than enough things to do for school and such. I’ve tried staying outside more since I live in an apartment, but since I’m always alone I just think of all the things I have to do, depressing I know. I’ve been seeing old videos from the 80s and 90s and how technology has made everything feel slower and fake and less human, I’ve feel like most of us have lost that.
Have a nice day :))))

Smartphone makers have manipulated you to spend as much time on your phone as possible.
All the technological advances we are currently obsessed with won't go away, you have to just say no to being stuck in this pattern..
It will take at least 10,000 years to adapt and better manage all this technology that is shoved down our throats..🌟
@optimisticAvocado8964 there are apps you can find that will prevent you from opening apps on your phone. You get to manage how long and when the break is done. Also what I do is leave my phone in another room if I'm going to be sitting on the couch or even on my walks. I'll leave it at home at m times. I feel doing things like this lowers the need to have to have it with you all the time

Turn off notifications for everything. Change color to grayscale so the burst of color doesn't stimulate your brain. Put phone on silent. Delete addictive apps. Use ScreenZen and use a lock code to limit or completely eliminate access to apps on your phone. Hope this helps! <3

Music, reading, exercise (walks biking). Phone calls to those you care about. A new hobby (geocaching, hiking, kayaking). I'll let you know if I can think of anything else. I guess sometimes just getting out for a walk or striking up a conversation with someone friendly
i started to make legos and it's really nice. But they are pretty expensive now so idk
@optimisticAvocado8964 Dopamine plays a powerful role in reward and reinforcement, and online addiction feeds heavily on this mechanism through constant novelty, notifications, validation, and instant gratification. Over time, it creates a loop that becomes difficult to break, leading to the spiral that many people experience.
To break one habit, one usually has to replace it with another. It is a gradual process, and that is how the brain slowly rewires itself and moves away from addiction. You just have to choose what works for you and stick with it.
It is natural to fail along the way, but do not feel guilty about it. Pick yourself up, keep going, and persist. You shall prevail.
Good luck!
I turn my phone off so I cannot access it. That helps me quite a bit. I know it is off so it isn't possible for me to use it without turning it back on.
Putting your phone in greyscale mode stops it from looking so appealing and helps reduce Screentime cravings!!!
@optimisticAvocado8964 dear you should try some skills at home like you can get tutorials or can start crocheting or anything you like believe me i tried crochet and sketching and it makes me forget about my phone 💛
Get a ui like zen detox that can lock you out of apps. Or I think the default uis have the same sort of thing if you look in settings. That helps a lot. Also. Find other things to do. Get outside and such. That gives you more options
