I usually just go silent around annoying people or when I’m overstimulated because of something someone said or did 🥲 so me wud actually luv to know what should one even do in these situations 😭

@Tinywhisper11 Introduce them to someone else then make your exit casually or you could say something like...“Oh that guy over there’s a friend of mine... I should go say hi real quick” and slip away... Or.... glance at your watch and go “Yikes! time to feed the pe0ple locked in my basement” and just walk off. Trust me they won’t come near you ever again!

Running away from someone can give them false belief that I’m running away from them out of fear of them. I don’t want someone getting the idea that I’m afraid of them when I’m not. That’s why I always walk away instead of running.

@Tinywhisper11 I usually don't get annoyed easily. I feel like most people who are deemed annoying are just really excited, trying to connect or don't really have enough social interactions practice. And I don't mind being there for them, tuning my chaos down and actually listening and trying to read between the lines, as long as they are not malicious.
What I do mind however are people who are mean, do not treat me with basic human respect, are judgemental of me or my choices and try to tell me I'm wrong. I go quiet around those people. #shoutout to that one coworker who asked me when am I getting married, and if I want to wait till 40 to do so (I'm just turning 25 in September) like it's a bad thing to take your time and marry when you feel ready, or want to do so.

It for sure isn't exceptional kindness and am not asking you about it... Obviously knowing better than telling her that, so I just take a deep breath and tell myself to be grateful I only have to work with her once in a while and not constantly.
