My interpretation:
I've had to restart my life after hitting rock bottom. There's no shame in restarting. Now, I've changed careers, found a man who treats me right and made new friends. If I settled for my past job and past relationships (friends and romantic ones), I wouldn't have been where I'm at today. I know, it's scary to be in the unknown, but if you work on yourself and your own personal growth journey, you will find what makes you happy too!

For me it is a very scary affirmation. Due to what I was taught, a restart means you've failed.
I think this is wrong. But it's what resides in my brain.
I'm also not convinced that a blind devotion to what I want is a good objective. There was a time as a child I wanted to own dolphins. 🐬. I'd still love to, but there's no way I could give them decent quality of life and I think they are happier in the wild. So I have no intention to follow that want.
What I struggle with is figuring out which of my wishes or dreams are realistic and chosing which ones are most important for me to invest in.
It's taking me a long time to figure out which are my goals and which were given me by my upbringing.
