Expressing Healthy Anger Day 7

📅 Day 7: Owning Your Boundaries (The Lifelong Shift)

You made it to Day 7! Give yourself a massive shout-out for dedicating this week to embracing one of the hardest, most stigmatized human emotions.

Learning to express healthy anger is a profound act of self-love. It means you are finally deciding that your peace, your boundaries, and your needs are worth protecting.

As we wrap up this week, remember that mastering healthy anger is a lifelong practice. You won't always get it perfectly right. There will be days you blow off steam too quickly, and days you slip back into hiding your feelings. That is completely okay. Progress isn't perfection. Progress is simply noticing your anger, validating it yourself, and trying your best to treat it with respect.

You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to disagree. You are allowed to be angry. 🩵

🔍 Deep Dive Explanation

When you begin expressing healthy anger and setting boundaries, some people in your life might react negatively. They may prefer the version of you that kept quiet or suppressed everything. Remember: those who benefit from you having no boundaries will always be upset when you start enforcing them. Stay grounded in your truth, trust your inner guardian, and remember that your 7 Cups community is always right here standing with you.

- My aha! moment was definitely the 20-minute reset. Ive been noticing the need to step away but cldnt figure out how to do it or when. That helped

- to everyone doing this program, including me: You are not your anger. You are not your mistakes. You are not your heat-of-the-moment words, your accidental snapping, your repressed anger turned bitterness. This is you: the person who followed this program to learn. The one who wants to improve. You are a good person, and you can figure this out. I believe in you 🤍

My aha moment was understanding my emotions behind anger again, as a reminder. Hopefully, I am kinder to myself in the upcoming days.

Be kinder to yourself. Listen to your inner voice. The anger also includes the voice of your inner child, waiting to be heard. 🩷🪐

I will sound ridiculous, but here we go. My husband and I fought since we couldn't agree on the AC temperature. I was mad, he was mad... then I realized how tired I was from work. Went to shower, calmed down, and realized none of us were right or wrong. We were tired.

Not sure if this can considered advice, but never underestimate the power of water when you are angry. Washing our hands and face sometimes brings us back to sanity.

I think my biggest takeaway might be that having a rest after 20 minutes is a thing. I should try to push it to 20 instead of just taking as long as a walk takes.

Supportive message... "Dear me, what are you doing? If you're mad, remember you've got this. Remember that time your rant about pickles got caught on tape recorder? That was pretty funny wasn't it? Anyway, that's all I've got... Remember to have fun."

I think my biggest takeaway was just learning about anger in itself. A lot of what was explained in this program I had never known before. I definitely learned a lot from this and it has been very helpful. Thank you for the time and effort you've put into making this.

To everyone: I'm so proud of you for sharing your experiences. You are not your anger, and you don't have to let it control you. Your trying your best and at the end of the day that's the best you can do. (:
