I have good news
Hi, everyone,
I had to share my good news. Today I was offered a job with a law firm as a runner. It is low paying, but the people are lovely and I was impressed by their firm. I was scheduled to start tomorrow.
Tonight about 9:30pm I checked my emails and saw that I was contacted by the Univ about my dream job on campus. They wanted to know if I am still interested. We have tentatively scheduled an interview at two possible times next Tuesday.
I am in God's hands. Please pray for me no matter who or what your God may be.
As to the law firm job, I called them tonight and explained as gently and respectfully as possible about the U of A interview and thought it most constructive if we do not waste their time hiring and training me only to have me quit early next week. I told them that I thought they were love people and was impressed by their firm. I further explained that the U of A email was not offering me the job, so if I am not offered the U of A job and if they are still interested in giving me another chance, that I would like to reapply to them for the runner job.
My head is reeling. I am getting on my news tonight and thanking God.

Right now it's only a good news streak. And that's a good thing. We all need good news. But i haven't been offered the job yet. I'll be praying to the Heavens to get the job and I'll let you all know whether I do or don't.

Thank you, Darkness. I wish I was that awesome. Unfortunately the law firm position already went sideways. They apparently don't check their voicemails so they are mad at me because they did not check their voicemails. They called me and left me a very nasty voicemail. I have to shake it off. It shows me how they treat a potential new employee before they even have all the facts or before the person starts. So, I think I'd rather not work for them anyway. That is a very bad way to start. Hopefully the first pick job will offer me the job.

They wanted me to start today but I left them a lengthy voicemail explaining why I thought it best if I don't start today. They didn't get that voicemail. They called me and left me a very nasty voicemail. I have to shake it off. It shows me how they treat a potential new employee before they even have all the facts or before the person starts. So, I think I'd rather not work for them anyway. That is a very bad way to start. I sent them a text and reiterated what I told them in the lengthy voicemail. I asked them why they don't check their voicemails. And I asked them why they were not worried that I was in an accident. I further said that I won't expect them to get this text so I will call them Monday to see how they would like to proceed. But after I sent the text I thought better of it. I don't want to work for someone who treats me to badly before I even start. It was a learning experience.

That's actually ok. It was a learning lesson and a good warning sign that helped me make my decision to tell them I'm no longer interested.
