Sexual assault.
They say, "Move on."
“Don’t linger in the past it was years ago.”
But how do you move on
when the past grips you in your sleep?
When flashbacks curl around your mind
and nightmares drag you back,
again and again?
I’d give anything to forget
to pretend it never happened,
to breathe without its weight.
I promise you,
no one wants that more than I do.
I’m tired.
Tired of how it changed me
how it touched even the sacred,
even the way I love.
It still haunts me.
If my own blood could harm me so deeply…
what might a stranger do?
This world feels too sharp,
too dark,
too full of ghosts
for someone
already carrying so many.
—From someone simply… tired
@Lindsey103
Lindsey,
First i want you to know I see you. Your words are heavy, raw and painfully real and I’m so sorry you're carrying this weight. What happened to you was not your fault. You didn’t deserve it. You didn’t ask for it and you have every right to still feel the ache it left behind. “Move on” is such a hollow thing to say to someone who’s been through something that shatters the very core of their being. Healing doesn’t follow a timeline. It’s not linear and it’s not tidy. It lingers, it returns, it interrupts. The fact that you're still here still breathing, still reaching out, still speaking your truth is nothing short of courageous. You are not broken. You are not weak. What you’re feeling is the echo of a deep wound, one that takes time, love, and gentleness to even begin to soothe. It’s okay to be tired. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to rage, to cry, to fall apart and it’s okay to say, “This still hurts.” That doesn’t mean you’re not healing it means you're human. Please don’t carry this alone. There are people who care, who will listen without rushing you, who will hold space for your pain without judgment. And if no one around you has done that yet, I want to say this clearly You matter. You are not a burden. You are worthy of peace, of love that feels safe of nights without fear. Take this one breath at a time. One moment at a time. You’ve already made it through the worst. You’re still standing in the aftermath, and that’s a kind of quiet, steady bravery no one can take away from you.
With warmth and solidarity, Someone who believes in your healing 🖤

I appreciate you very much for taking time to respond to this! Taking time to show me that there are people out there that care and are supportive. Life has been really rough lately and this means the world to me. Thank you!
@Lindsey103
Take care of yourself ❤️
Ive had my consent violated too. 5 times. Twice by strangers, once by a partner, twice by a friend.
I ddidnt deserve it. Thats what my inner voice keeps screaming all the time. I have a good heart.... I ddint ask for it.....
I forget about it....but it comes back....
And even though im not gender biased , I want to stay at a distance from men. Its safety precaution.
Im with you. Because how can I not be with you when ive been through similar stuff.
No it wasnt your fault.
Dont know why it happened.
Im just with you in your sadness and trauma. 💛✨️

I know it's difficult, I am also dealing whith what he left in me and I don't even remember what happend, It might be even more difficult if you do remember. I know each day feels like climbing a huge mountain and that sleep doesn't always mean rest, at least that is for me. No one should have armed you, no one should have took advantage of your trust, it isn't fair and none of us deserved to live this way. I am also tired, trying to heal, to continue but it isn't easy. The memories I can't see got stuck in my body, in my thoughts and, of course, in the way I relate with others. Trust is a huge problem for me and it might also be for you, especially if it was your own blood, your family, someone that was meant to protect you but instead harmed you. I am here for you now, you can always talk to me, you can always trust me. I really hope we both find some peace 💞
Our brains just work that way to protect us from such harm...just like you I can't remember at least not much bits and pieces comeback...so even not remembering it's the most haunting thing in the world. I'm so sorry you've been through such things but thank you for reaching out to me <3

I dont k ow if this helps but when im dealing with letting go abuse its most effective to focus on my own emotions and self compassion.
Thinking about the abuser and denying what's real(the pain/unfairness) only gives them that much more of your life.
Idk if its helpful but you have to maybe get intouch with yourself and try to not give your abuser more of your life. I was sexually assaulted as a kid by a bigger and stronger kid. It wasn't until the last few years that it had a impact on me. I know it sounds crazy but when I forgave the dude in my heart it helped me feel better.
Just remeber ..your abuser doesn't care. You are the one suffering and because you cannot go back and change what happened you have to free yourself. Maybe therapy could help 🙏🏾
@Tonyk1988
I'm really trying!!! the person that did it is sadly still a part of my day to day life which just makes things harder I feel like.
I hate that you went through that even as a child it comes back to effect people as adults...Thank you for reaching out to me and helping me feel less alone <3
That's rough... I hope you can one day get him out of your life. If it helps..im kinda in that boat too!
Trauma and abuse won't end us tho... stay strong 💪
That is really hard. I don't know who it was but I am doubting it was a member from my family. I am mostly thinking of the uncle I used to get along with as a 3-4 year old child. I think I used to sleep in hes house sometimes and he was really nice to me at that age. It hurts to feel like he did this to me because I loved him so much and I still trusted him completely until now that I think of this. I really hope that he didn't do anything like that to me but my hart feels a mix of betrayal, confusion and pain. He is still around me, he was always around me and that possibility isn't being easy to process for now. I genuinely hope the best for you two, Lindsey and Tonik. And I want the fastest and better healing for all of us who survived. We are brave for being here, facing every difficult day doing the best for our well being.

@Lindsey103 Hugss to u🫂...I am so sorry this happened
things like this....they never leave. I was 14 when it happened to me...A part of me knew it wasn't normal...I knew it was wrong...I knew what actually happened but I just didn't wanna accept it. since then I still get those flashbacks.
what's even more painful for me is that now, that I'm aware of what happened and I accepted it....it makes me relive the aftermath of when I was young and confused. Now I know why I was confused.
when I see them again....I couldn't help but remember it.
I just want you to know that this poem you wrote....it made me wanna think about it. I was too scared of to think about it earlier....and yes it hurts to think about it. I'm tired too of that moment popping into my mind. I never acknowledged it. but u are brave enough to write it. hats off to u. and thx too....maybe I'd never had gotten a chance to acknowledge it for myself.
@ardentiana
I hate hearing that this happened to you it breaks my heart. You were only 14 a child...No one deserves such horrible things. Such things are hard to think about...but you replied to me and I appreciate that more than you know so thank you❤️
@Lindsey103 and I appreciate u made this post....I wanted to process it once but I didn't had the courage to, I didn't had the courage to write it out on the paper but I did today...Although it was bad I guess I needed that
