(TW) What's the worst thing someone ever said to you?
Answer this however you'd like! I added the TW because I feel this thread might contain triggering or disturbing responses, so I'm putting it out there just in case! 💗
Although I can think of many things, I'll start with this: "The warmth in my heart is not there anymore. I know it's an a(censored)hole thing to say, but you deserve the truth.", Bonus: "I don't love you anymore. To me, you're not even significant or important, so why should I pretend to care for any longer? I only put up with you because I thought you would stop with this whole "abuser" nonsense. You're worse than him because at least he has an audience... and you don't."
That's technically two things, but it still works!
“You’re stupid”. Simple, but has stuck with me my whole life.
@jesusredeemedme2425 they lied.
@jesusredeemedme2425 @unassumingEyes I have to agree with unassumingEyes here. They lied! You're not stupid at all!
Why would they lie? I do not get it. Why are they even saying it?
It was said in anger, and they’ve apologized profusely, multiple times, throughout the years. I know they’ve repented. It still hurts though…
@lovingCat6978 I recently heard an audio of someone who I thought would be okay with me telling a friend "I genuinely can't have him in my room for a week, no way, I don't wanna go in a room with him, with you 100% but with him never in my life".
@determinedBlueberry8137 I can't believe someone would just say this, and not be fully forward with you about it. I can't tell everything that happened (obviously as it wasn't fully spoken about), but if this was said behind your back, that is not how anyone should be communicating, period. If there were any problems, concerns, or any situation that needed to be addressed, it should've been fully out there in a conversation with you... not to someone else in a sense where you can't hear them unless it was on audio. I can understand why it must've hurt to hear this...
That I looked too ugly to be a good person
@andrewtan99 Far from the truth... in fact, 'ugly' people don't truly exist, only ugly souls (ones that deliberately want to hurt others, those that don't have any regards for others in their life), but I will say this, you're NOT ugly. I can say this as well, appearance doesn't equal being a good OR bad person, as it can be just as deceiving as it's also not. While "good" or "bad" people are both subjective terms, you can still be perfectly capable of doing good things, no matter how you look. 😊
@lovingCat6978 "yes, you are!" after i said that I'm not my sister. speaks for itself.
ive actually had "worse" things said to me, but this hit the hardest
@unassumingEyes My gosh... I can see how that hit the hardest, you're allowed to be your own person, and not someone else! I wish some people can see that what they say about someone, especially if it's harmfully comparing someone to another as if they're the same person isn't okay?
It does sound like to me that you want to be recognized as your own individual self, and that in itself is totally valid... and common sense, really.
@lovingCat6978 honestly, that exchange sums up my whole life pretty well. I made one mistake im still paying for, and that was to not be my sister xD
@lovingCat6978 i don't really get offended easily, but the words that cut me deep are calling me selfish.
Also, a honourable mention: "if you go insane, I will put you in an asylum. I won't let you ruin my life. So get yourself together"
@sadcat13 Oh... I partially have some experience with being told similar regarding that, except in went a tad differently. Being called selfish from anyone can sting pretty bad, too. I hope you know that you're loved and cared about here, and your feelings matter. 😊
@lovingCat6978 thank you 😊 don´t worry, i´m doing pretty well, the pit is behind me, just pretty much resolving childhood trauma and patterns rn so it never happens again 😊
@lovingCat6978
I can't think of words at this moment BUT to me the worst thing happened recently:
It was body language and the lack of words that was not said 😭 💔
@braindamag3 Aaaa nooo! That's never a good experience to have! 😖 Without words, it's hard to tell with non-verbal passivity what someone was trying to say!
@lovingCat6978
My mind racing (and I hate it)
I think she was sayin or not saying, DON'T TALK TO ME.
I was standing behind her in the brake room and said "Morning" I think from muscle memory she replied "Morning" turned and saw that it was I standing there and quickly turned away and nothing but awkward silence after that.
This was our first encounter since the end of March when I had ended our friendship of 12 years because of the way she had reacted to me divulging that I had feelings for her. I think she is angry with me but maybe does not know how to express her feeling towards me.
@lovingCat6978
obviously there's been a lot, but most recently, my best friend said I was selfish and apathetic. those are the two things that I care about most not to be.
another friend also said I never deserved her trust because of something that I didn't do
also to everyone else here on the post, I'm sorry people say such hurtful things! you know what is true about yourself, so stick with that <3
@lolorye89 Wow.. the nerve of someone you deeply trust, saying what they think you are, and what you're trying to avoid being... It's one thing if they're bringing it up with you as a matter of trying to help you improve as a person... it's another if they're saying it to make you feel bad.
Ouch... I sadly know to some similar extent how invalidating and irritating it can get if a friend (who should always be by your side/should know you better than whoever accused you of something) decides to go completely against you. It hurts.
And you're most definitely right! 😊 It hurts my heart to see everyone having had those things said to them... especially if their situation was unfair.
@lovingCat6978
thanks for understanding, although it is sad you understand <3 I've always tried my hardest to show how much I care about others, and for her to call me selfish after so much cut deep :/
"Maybe you should get plastic surgery."
"Haven’t you seen your own face in the mirror?" (I was barely ten years old)
Strange how some people take phrases like these as "jokes" or something not worth getting angry about.
@willingPond4694 I wonder the exact same! The implications of being told you need to "get plastic surgery" just because of how you look, I can't fathom how that's supposed to be funny. Especially at a young age if people make comments on your looks that young! It can make someone really insecure, have low self-confidence... it's not healthy to obsess over looks when that doesn't make up some one's true character.
What I often say to others is, "Your facial features were loved by much older, earlier generations." Implying that there's nothing wrong with how you/anyone looks for that matter. 😄
What is WRONG with these people?????
@lovingCat6978
"You are a coward"
"Enjoy your tiny house jajajajaja"
"You are virgin"
Etc.
@NobodyKnow5 Eugh. The type of people to throw insults as if it's a reflection of you, when it summarizes their values and where they place importance... then they project insecurity onto you, and think nothing of it. I wish some people out there could be more mindful of what they're saying and how it affects others.
🩶 Gray is really not your color 🩶... Not the worst thing I've been told ... but I was interrupted while talking about something totally different at the time while she loudly explained how washed out I looked 🤔 The fact she needed to stop me talking and inform me how offensive I was in my gray shirt ..isn't gray everyone's color? Seems so dumb but I hear those words still when I put a gray shirt on🤷...
@sereneStream214
grey makes anybody's eye color or hair look really vibrant at least to me.. so im really not sure what that person was talking about. people should be more considerate of their words and actions
