Weekly Prompt #22: Whats a quality you see in others that you'd like to inherit?
Welcome back, everyone!
A couple of weeks ago we discussed- Can forgiveness be earned, or is it something that should be freely given? If you haven't checked yet, please click here to add your thoughts.
This week's prompt is: What's a quality you see in others that you'd like to inherit?
We are good observers and we observe a lot of things happening around us. One of them is the people we observe. Their goodness is something we dislike about them and so, we observe and note a lot of things. So, take a moment to reflect on what quality you like to inherit that you see in others. Take your time to explore fully and allow your thoughts to flow freely. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to learning, as it is a deeply personal and individual experience. Please share and discuss here among us.

@ASilentObserver I want the ability to let go. I am too tough on myself and never let myself enjoy the essence of life
TW: Eating disorder
I would love to be able to just eat food without overthinking and analysing everything. I'm envy people who can just eat and enjoy food.
@SammyLouise It sounds like overthinking about food takes away from enjoying the experience. You are not alone in struggling with these kinds of thoughts at times. What thoughts tend to come up when eating that make it difficult to simply enjoy?
@ASilentObserver
Thank you, that means so much. I guess it's just a control thing. There's been a lot of times in my life when I've felt powerless and controlling what I eat is a (bad) way of coping. I also struggle with feeling not good enough to enjoy food which sounds ridiculous. Sorry
@SammyLouise Thank you for sharing, Sammy. It sounds like feeling a lack of control at times has led to struggles with using food as a coping mechanism. You deserve to feel good about nourishing your body.
@ASilentObserver Thank you, that means a lot. I'm working towards that 🤍
@ASilentObserver Organization. Half my anxiety issues stem from being a neurotic mess 24/7 If I could just get organized and hold myself to it, half my probelms would disappear.
@purplecashew2005 It sounds like being organized is really important to you and would help reduce some of your anxiety. You are not alone in finding that a messy environment can contribute to feeling overwhelmed. Just knowing that you're taking steps toward a goal that's meaningful to you may help provide some relief.
What's a quality you see in others that you'd like to inherit?
If I had to choose only ONE quality...
I guess I would say disciplined.
I'm not as disciplined anymore.
When I say disciplined, I mean a couple of things...
I wish I was disciplined enough to stay away from my vices and build better habits.
I wish I was disciplined enough to finish up one task without getting distracted and jumping from one to another.
I wish I was disciplined in life, where maybe I can handle the hardships better and prevent myself from going down the same hole and getting stuck for a while...
I'm not as disciplined anymore, but I'm slowly but surely trying to get back on that path.
