When silence is holding more than words...🌿
Sometimes the silence we carry is not because we have nothing to say…🌿
but because there is too much inside, and it feels hard to let it out.
I can sense that sometimes people start to share…
and then pause, as if something inside gently pulls them back.
Maybe it’s the fear of being misunderstood…
maybe it’s the feeling that words won’t come out the right way…
or maybe it’s just that opening up takes more courage than it seems.
And that’s okay… truly.
You don’t have to rush yourself.
You don’t have to explain everything clearly.
Even the most unclear, scattered thoughts deserve to be heard.
You can take your time… sit with it…
and whenever even a small part feels ready to come out,
it will be held here with care.
And if you ever feel like letting even a little of it out…
you won’t have to do it alone.
We can let the thoughts come out at your own pace
I’m here 🤍🌿
Those are lovely sentiments. It's actually surprising that people perceive silence as non intellectualism.
I'm a comfortable observer so I hear what's being said, what isn't being said and everything in between, even the implied bits, I'm supposedly too naive to work out.
Eventually when I'm ready I work things out and support myself :)
@ScrabbleBrain,
That actually makes a lot of sense…
Silence isn’t always emptiness, sometimes it’s depth. The way you described observing, picking up on what’s said and unsaid… that feels more like awareness than naivety.
And I hear you when you say you take your time to understand things and support yourself. That kind of inner processing takes strength, even if others don’t always see it.
There’s something very grounded about that🤍
@IamSkyBlueAakash It's how I grew up, too quiet for people, so they only saw me in a certain way..
This resonates so much with me right now. I am carrying so much and often I stay silent especially with my spouse. For a vatiety of reasons, he has created an unsafe space for me to feel emotionally safe to be vulnerable with, he tries to control my individual therapy, thinks that I am deluding myself and not addressing the issues he thinks I "should" be working on and when I acknowledge how far I have come in therapy which is a long way for myself he picks it apart, he is hyper critical, I am not allowed to express emotion otherwise I am falling apart even though I am finally after decades releasing very valid and reasonable feelings given what I have been through it is I am overreacting. After 20 years of this crap I vascillate between wanting to still be married or not. I withdraw from him completely as self-preservation and to prevent exhaustion from him always having to be right. I constantly think that he wants me to change who I am to fit his narrative and perception of who I should be. I just want to be understood. Is that too much to ask for? Not perfectly but some sort of acknowledgement and at least trying to understand and really listening.
@creativePenguin5558,
That sounds really heavy to carry for such a long time…
I can hear how much you’ve been holding in, especially in a space where you’re supposed to feel safe. When your feelings are questioned, picked apart, or called “too much,” it makes sense that you would start going quiet and protecting your energy.
And even after doing the hard work on yourself, not having that effort seen or acknowledged can feel deeply discouraging. It’s not that you’re asking for something unrealistic… wanting to be heard, understood, and accepted as you are is a very human need.
It also sounds like you’ve been trying to take care of yourself in the only ways you can right now, even if that means stepping back to preserve your peace. That takes awareness, even if it feels exhausting.
You don’t have to have all the answers about your relationship right now. It’s okay to feel conflicted.
If you ever feel like talking, you can do it at your own pace. There’s no pressure to share everything at once 🤍
@IamSkyBlueAakash
Well said. Silence do hold more words into it. It can be louder than voice.Â
@JourneySteward this is for youÂ
@LadyInSilence
Sometimes silence holds so much that it feels impossible to put into words. It’s not that there’s nothing to say—it’s that the weight of it feels too much to place on the people we care about. When you trust someone deeply, you know they would carry it with them, and that can make it harder to speak.
So for some of us, silence becomes the only place to hold those things. And yet, there are those very few people who understand anyway—who can read what isn’t said. Just knowing that, and feeling that quiet understanding, helps more than words sometimes. It lets me hold things without adding the weight of feeling like I’ve placed it on someone else.
@IamSkyBlueAakash
Thoughts and feelings are a lot sometimes. When you have so many it can feel like it is impossible to speak them all. When you try to all that comes out is silence. Silence can hold so much. All the feelings and thoughts you are scared to say to someone or even to yourself. Sitting with silence can be scary but if you can then you might just find the right words to fill that silent space.Â
@Schlag,
This is so beautifully said…
Sometimes it’s not that there’s nothing to say, it’s that there’s too much all at once. And trying to put all of that into words can feel overwhelming, almost like everything just gets stuck inside.
I also felt what you said about silence holding so much… it really does. Not just thoughts, but emotions that are still trying to be understood.
And yes, sitting with that silence can feel uncomfortable, even scary at times… but it can also be where things slowly start making sense.
If you ever feel like sharing even a small part of what’s sitting in that silence, you can do it at your own pace 🤍
