The Weekly Beacon: Small ways to help the community!
Hi everyone,
The heart of this community has always been the people in it. Sometimes it is easy to think that only users with official badges or leadership roles are the ones who keep things running. I want to change that today. The truth is that the most meaningful support here happens through simple acts of kindness and the gift of presence anyone can give.
To make sure everyone knows they are needed and valued, I am starting a new weekly tradition. Every week, I will share a few small ways you can help out. You do not need special training or hours of free time to make a big difference in someone else's day. We build this community together.
If you have a few minutes today, here are three simple ways you can lend a hand (all blue text is clickable):
- Greet someone in the Welcome thread (click the >> to go to the most recent page)
- Spend an hour in one of the member rooms, especially during a time of low activity. Welcome everyone who enters the chatrooms to make them feel seen.
- Give out a resource to someone! Examples: the 7 Cups Basics, the Listener Quick Guide, or a self-help guide
If you can do even one of these things, be it once or for multiple days this week, please reply to this thread and let me know which one(s) you picked.

@Heather225 It's always good having a reminder and an easy link to take me to the welcome thread. I just revisited it again because of you. I guess I have a tendency to be inconsistent because I don't always subscribe to threads so miss a lot of things. I'll try and greet more people. No special badges or roles required to dig deep, help the cause and hit the ground running!
For me, it's simply a mindset and way of existing here on the platform.
If you'd like to toss a special badge my way or cheers, I think that's incredibly kind of you to do so. It would make me smile from the inside out. I love being appreciated from time to time just as I appreciate others, but it's not a requirement on my end. I spend time here and daily. I drop links for resources, spend time in the member rooms, a myriad of other things.., just depends on the day I guess.

Yes, you’ve hit the nail on the head in that true leadership is about how we show up for others every single day, not just the titles we hold. Your consistency in the member rooms and the way you’re always ready with resources is exactly what makes this community what it is.
Cheers and a badge are definitely guaranteed for participating here, and it's my hope that by seeing each other doing good deeds, we're all inspired to keep the chain going and feeding back into what will be a weekly thread in this campaign.

The forums are my favorite place to be here. That's where I like to contribute. 😀 I can be "serious" when I'm showing support and responding to posts, but I can also be "playful" and have fun. I like doing both and it helps me be balance. Pretty much, I'm a hopper. I just comment or post where I feel I have to offer something. That's all Desiree can do and it's enough for me. 😀
