Honoring Roadie's One-Year Anniversary

Oh man, so is this a special day or what?

One year ago to the day (time zones are silly), an amazing fella with a heart of gold joined the site. People could instantly see that he was something special, just in the way that he carried himself with such respect, and treated others like family, even upon first meeting. He was always member-oriented, but always had a knack for helping out other listeners. The humility he retained in that process was nothing short of amazing. He climbed the ranks, eventually earning the position of mentor leader, and now he does a lot, working with members and ensuring we're not running around like our heads are cut off.

In honor of this amazing milestone in your 7Cups career, @FlowerInDisguise19 and I worked on making this event extra special for you. She's put together an entire slideshow for you; so, despite your busy schedule, we require a few things from you.

1) Get a cup of coffee. Or tea. Or really good chocolate milk. We'll wait, don't worry.
2) If it's cold, wrap yourself up in a blanket. Get that Snuggie that's been dying to be worn; we don't care, just get comfortable.

I don't know what words would even begin to capture how much of a role model you've been to me, how much of a great example you lead and what a wonderful human being you are. I remember, the first time I came across you was in my fave thread, the Proud of Myself Because thread, and there you were, bringing your usual Roadie-esque sense of support, compassion and forum protractor-ness to all the members. My first impression of you was "This is my forum role model, no doubt about it." Since then, you've grown in my heart to earn the highest admiration and respect for everything you do and most importantly, for who you are as a great person too. You, along with the lovely OliviaButler, have been my ultimate forum inspirations and I will never be able to repay how much you've (unknowingly) mentored me in so many ways. I've always had the greatest adoration for your calm sensible way of handling things, your uniquely thoughtful way of phrasing things and who can forget your compassion and beautiful forum posts? I cannot wait for the day I am able to PM you, my dear role model. Know that I am thankful for all you have done in your year here and that I wish you so many more anniversaries after this. Lastly, my silly self hasn't said a damn thing, so here goes:

I will never forget the first day that I messaged you, and I know I've said that a million times by now, but hear me out. I had seen you around, and found you to be really amazing, so I shot a PM your way. In response, I got a really large paragraph, filled with amazingly cool things. I was so surprised that I had gotten such a response, as in this day in age, it's usually more appropriate, and more in the norm to reply with something shorthanded and barely... English. But you've always had much more respect than that. You're such an easy person to open up to; I've told you about large parts of my life that you still remember and reference in conversation. We're not the type of friends who need to be up each other's butts all the time, but rather, can get peace in the interactions we do share. Sometimes they'll be few and far between, sometimes we'll write letters; it's a really interesting dynamic. To be honest, your humility has always amazed me, your passion and your wit about you has always been charming and admirable. I have never seen you give up on a single person, I've never seen you be mean to a single person, and I've never met someone who's found you to be less than amazing. Happy 1-year anniversary, lovely Roadie. I look forward to more years of us doing amazing things in the forums together.
