Self-love Weekly Series Day 1 🍃
Welcome to day 1 of my weekly series with topic Self-love! Its such a great topic isnt it?
Many of us tend to forget or think we dont deserve self-love. Some of us dont know how to apply it on us. Thats understandable because we tend to be so harsh on ourselves, and criticize us so much.
Think for a second:
How would you treat your best friend? I guess not as harsh as you treat yourself right?
Todays challenge:
Write in the comments one thought you have that is against self-love. Now think your best friend is saying this to themselves. What would you tell them?
My example:
"You are not doing enough. You are lazy and you dont pick yourself up. You are finding excuses the whole time, its pathetic."
If my best friend thought that I would say:
You are doing as much as you can. You are not lazy nor you find excuses. You are not pathetic. Its okay to not have it all figured out. You go through so much. You dont need to push yourself and make it worse.
Now try to apply this to you. Whenever you catch yourself criticizing you, find a positive answer to give to yourself.
Cant wait to see your comments. ✨️
Ps: Pssst. You matter. 😝

My thought is that I'm being selfish/ self centered when considering self love. I feel like I should put my focus on others.
I would tell my friend that she's got it all wrong. You can't take care of others if you can't take care of yourself first. I would tell her that in order to love, first have to understand love and love yourself.
🤨 I wish I could take my own advice
@cheerfulKiwi1776
My thoughts-
I don't deserve love from myself or anyone. I pamper myself too much already. It's just an excuse to not do any work. I never make myself useful.
If a really good friend said that, I'd say-
Whether you deserve it or not, I do and always will love you. And by the way, you deserve it, lot of it. Pampering yourself is good. Self love isn't a crime. When there's no one there for you in the world, you have yourself. Not doing anything is never the right thing, but you don't have to push yourself beyond limits to be productive. Work within your limits and get it all done at your own pace. I'm always here with you, for you. 💖🫂✨
@Luminity125
Yeah exactly! Do you think that using this would help you?
@cheerfulKiwi1776
...if I'm being honest, no. See, I love myself a lotttt. But that doesn't mean I should just let myself do whatever I want. For my own good, I need to step out of my comfort zone. Was I able to explain what I mean? 😮💨
I want to reply to this, but don't know how?
Right now I believed I deserved to be alone after a horrible breakup and work fired me. The truth is, I don't deserve to be alone, I deserve to be with people who truly value me, thankyou for the reminder ❤️🫂
"You're not self-sufficient, and you're not any closer to anything you wanted to be or be doing."
You're able to enjoy the journey right now, and you have plenty of people with you. Possibilities are opening up, and you're making a lot of progress.
@Torean
Great! Do you think this way would help you?
My Thoughts:
I am ugly and useless I don’t get why people like to be around me since I’m always to aloof or just a nervous wreck that people find me annoying.
If I found my best friend saying that to themselves:
You aren’t useless or ugly and the reason that people want to be around you is because you have something special that makes people love you, it’s also okay to be aloof and nervous wreck sometimes you don’t have to force yourself to express anything or feel like your worries aren’t something important or valid if it’s important to you then it is.
Ps : Thank you for making this challenge it really helps.
I almost lost my temper with a colleague because he always forgot information I had mentioned before. Then I read a book called Crucial Conversations and realized that perhaps the problem was the way we communicated. I felt a little irritated with myself for being impolite and too straightforward.
Later, I realized: instead of blaming myself, why not treat it as a discovery?
We all make mistakes sometimes. But what’s most important is that we change after making them. Influence and action are more important than blaming ourselves or others. We’re not perfect, but we can learn from our mistakes.
"You are so behind and are not good enough for the things that you really want. That is why you are not seeing any progress that is meaningful and has impact."
My reply: You have been on survival mode for the past 3 years, it's okay to give yourself some grace. You're not supposed to have your life figured out at such a young age, do people even actually have their lives figured out? You don't need some fancy plan, life happens. People just learn to adapt to their surroundings, you don't have to perfect. You don't know how those people you're comparing yourself to actually feel. For all you know, they could have a happiness mask and are secretly hurting on the inside. Your journey is unique, and does not have to be on the level of anyone else's.
@cheerfulKiwi1776
"I don't deserve care or kindness from others. I deserve to be treated like I don't matter. I'm just lazy and can't ever do anything right, it's pathetic."
If a found out a friend was talking to themselves like this then maybe I would tell them that despite what everyone else says they do deserve care and respect. That they don't deserve to be treated like nothing. And that maybe you don't have to handle everything all at once but instead just have to take it one small step at a time.
@IzzyGamer
