Welcome to Day 1 of the "Empowering our Community" Event.
Shoutout to @Sunisshiningandsoareyou for writing the content for this Forum Discussion!
Empowerment refers to having a sense of control over our own choices, being confident and strong to live life as we want to.
To empower someone means giving them a confidence boost, inspiring them to make their own choices and have control over their life decisions.

It is said, an empowered person is like a candle ~ who lights up those around them to illuminate also. When one person is empowered they encourage others to be empowered too.
An empowered person exudes a sense of confidence, self-worth, and self-esteem, knows they are in control of their life, and feels more motivated to reach their goals through developing and working on their skills and competencies. When someone is empowered, they inspire others to feel the same ~ engage towards making positive changes in life. It is important to be empowered as a community, to make the right choices, have a common sense of purpose, and collectively achievable goals that will be beneficial to everyone.

I got the question: Do you believe it is necessary to empower people around us?
Yes, I believe it is necessary to empower people around us because a lot of times we're all living in our own heads. We are really our own worst critic at times. So, when we take the moment to empower someone else, we really help someone get outside of their own head and hear from someone who acknowledges the work they do. Plus, empowering others leads to you feeling positive emotions as well and helps you to get out of your own head. It really helps both parties a lot! Also, who wouldn't like to be an empowerment fairy? 🧚♀️

What does feeling empowered mean to you?
For me, feeling empowered means being confident and mentally strong. Doing the things which I want to do, which I love to do and I can do well that makes me feel empowered. Having self confidence, practicing self care, thinking about you and using your strengths can make someone feel empowered ❤
Feeling empowered is in your handshands. You have got to believe in the immense power within you 💖
That's an amazing way to describe the feeling of being empowered. I agree, feeling empowered is in our hands and once we are empowered, we empower each other as well.

this is an amazing event!! i decided to do the question "Do you consider yourself to be an empowered person? Who do you look up to feel empowered?" as i have been on the path of healing and really *really* focusing on myself and my needs for the past couple of months, i do feel like i am an empowered person. i still have a lot of work to do on myself, but i have improved and made big steps and changes from before. i have been very motivated to heal and to feel okay and everything has been paying off very well as i'm feeling much better than i have in the earlier months of this year :) to feel empowered, one example of someone i look up to is shigeo kageyama from the anime mob psycho 100. him being fictional doesn't diminish his value to me and he's inspired me in so many ways for the past 3 years, now more than ever as i take a path similar to his. like me, he learned to let go of his trauma, surround himself with all good people who love and respect him, and learned to be more assertive and knowing what has to be done as well as making sure to keep his kindness and good, loving heart preserved despite what he goes through. he inspires me greatly and pushes me even more during a time like this to make positive changes in my life and his impact on me is clear ❤️
I'm glad you like the event. It is so great to know that you are feeling empowered and working towards feeling better as well. I believe we all look up to fictional characters in life with whom we relate to. So, it's perfect to look up to an anime character to feel empowered. I definitely agree with you Love. Being mentally strong is such a sign of confidence and empowerement, and although it can be really hard to a place where we're 100% comfortable with our mental strength, it is so beautiful for us to acknowledge it and want to improve everyday 💟 Thank you for that! 😊
The question I got was: In what ways do you feel being empowered helps us in life?
→ I would say that being — and feeling — empowered and help us so much in so many aspects of our personal, social and mental wellbeing. When you feel empowered, and confident, and strong, you are comfortable with yourself and who you are. This means that you are less affected by negative things that happen around you because you know that your identity and the things that you are going through are two separate things. And you forgive yourself, and love yourself, and respect yourself. And there's nothing better than being best friends with yourself like that 💕

Answer: I do feel it is necessary simply for the reason that the empowerment makes us grow as a society. When we receive that feeling we do amazing things we never thought was possible.

I strongly believe that empowering people around us can help us become better individuals, especially in a team. For instance, supporting, appreciating each other as teammates will lead to the team's enhancements.
Similarly, empowering less fortunate people is extremely crucial for a better tomorrow.

I believe that this is extremely necessary. Being empowered by those around me has helped me in so many ways. I was able to take up opportunities that I never could have imagined myself taking and have been able to grow in so many ways. By being empowered, I was able to respect myself for who I am and have been able to care about myself more than ever before. I believe that by empowering others, I can help them grow in similar ways and therefore find it very important.
I agree. Feeling empowered makes us confident and when we empower others. we help ourselves as much as we help them. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us.
